I usually go through about 7 to 8 different news sites several times a day. Because I'm lazy, I got tired of doing this since going to my favourites list or typing the address and looking for a semi-interesting update takes too long. Then I learned about RSS readers and well, now I get all the updates from all the sites I visit all in one nice little application. The application searches for updates on the sites every 30 minutes or so and gives me a little popup telling me the newest articles. Right now, I've got the RSS reader giving me updates on 12 different sites and a few tech related blogs.
Do any of you use newsreader programs? If so, which ones?
I'm still using the first one I found since it's easy to use and it's got a decent search function. Not to mention, it's one of the best freeware apps available
RSSReader
I find most of the feeds (the xml documents that the newsreaders use) at Feedster
