That's a little high. I just found a window sticker from 68 for a R/T Hemi that was $4,807.05. Base price was $3,500 for an R/T. The Hemi was a 600 dollar option.this car is portrayed as a hillbilly red neck mobile but it is not so . this was like your t bird in the sixties and to buy this car in 1968 with only the 383 magnum motor would have cost you $5800.00 new which was twice as much as a challenger which only the upper class could afford.
