Was this a car for phones or something? Because I do not get the gimmick that is the buttons on the steering wheel.

I think it's stereo/audio system controls. The numbers go 1-6, not enough for a phone, but probably 1-6 radio preset frequencies. There's also buttons like SCAN, VOL, CD, and the eject symbol.

Ok, now I see. The 0-6 buttons are for the stereo. How stupid of me.
