Big mufflers are easy to put on... so is nitrous, assuming the buttons were real. I wouldn't boost one, either with squeeze or a turbo. It's not the strongest bottom end Toyota ever made. The Paseo is not much more than a little economy car that's nicer to look at, like vat_man said.Originally posted by takumi64
i doubt it... i saw one today with a big muffler and two red NOS buttons on the steering wheel...

You don't get me. My favourite cars are rare, normal-looking production cars or rare versions of mass-produced cars. Hence my love of the Grand Cherokee TSi, VW Corrado, Isuzu Oasis, Grand Cherokee Freedom, Mazda MPV all-sport in green/tan, Toyota Previa, Cadillac Allante, et cetera.
The Paseo convertible falls squarely into that category, though it's rarer than any of the above cars (except maybe the Oasis). The Paseo is the rarest plant-produced Toyota ever.
I thought so too, but the new one's growing on me - it's so incredibly competent, it's hard to hate it.Originally posted by Naoki
Much better than the new one
Yeah I wish VW would make a new Corrado. Those were some sweet little machines and both engines were good to start with. And they were also both really good to tune. I dont mind the new Golfs, but its just not the same as the Corrado.Originally posted by M5Power

Where do you live? The current USDM Toyota minivan is actually quite a bit different (and, from what I understand, better) than the Asian and European one. That would explain your dislike of it.
Okay, well, here's a brief history of Toyota vans in the US:Originally posted by Naoki
I live in Florida. I just did a quick search for Previa and I took those 2 images.

Okay, well, here's a brief history of Toyota vans in the US:
- There was the 'van,' which was called the Hi-Ace, Lit-Ace, and Van in various forms in various markets in the early 1980's. Nobody bought these.
- The Previa came out in the early 1990s and went until about 1993, which is weird since nobody bought one of these either.
- The Sienna was new for MY '98, and was originally so popular there were waiting lists.
- The new Sienna is new for MY '04, and bears a slight resemblance to the bottom Previa you posted.
1992 through 1995 Paseos (and Tercels) carried a 100hp 1.5l that put out 91 lb-ft, but, along with the Tercel, for 1996 power was dropped to 93 horsepower and torque was increased to 100 lb-ft.Originally posted by 12sec. Civic
Toyota Paseo comes with exactly 100hp and 86 lb-ft TQ.
The later Paseos did bear some reseblance to the Celica (back anyway):
Usually, but Toyota often sold MT as standard just to make people pay extra for AT - they did it on both Camry and Corolla, as I recall.Originally posted by Frustrated Palm
Probably AT since it was just a people mover as said by 12 sec. civic and friends. Then again, I dont know anything about this car. Usually if they are just people movers they are auto...
