I feel like I'm the only one who lost interest in Rusev.

The whole getting rid of his past stuff has only left him being another generic unstoppable monster heel when Raw already has 2. We already Alpha Academy getting beat up by Gunther a few months ago, add something to it.

The whole Russia military stuff and Rusev Day gave Rusev character on top of his monster status, its what made Rusev more compelling.

I have just seen this weeks NXT, it seems like WWE have started a trend of picking unlikely winners of battle royales. They a 25 man one on the show where the winner would face Oba for the NXT title at Battleground in a few weeks and it was won by Myles Bourne, someone who is part of a faction called No Quarter Catch Crew and barely has any TV time. This comes after Jey Uso won the Royal Rumble this year.

Jordynne Grace beat Giulia to face Stephanie Vaquer for the women's title and the TNA title will be on the line for the first time in WWE when Joe Hendry defends against Trick Williams.

Also Elijah made an appearance, he is obviously Elias and Ezekiel's brother ;) someone should tell Kevin Owens!

Here is the card for WWE Backlash tomorrow.

Women's Intercontinental Championship.
Lyra Valkryia (c) v Becky Lynch

Intercontinental Championship.
Dominik Mysterio (c) v Penta

Pat McAfee v Gunther

United States Championship-Fatal Four Way Match.
Jacob Fatu (c) v LA Knight v Drew McIntyre v Damien Priest

Undisputed WWE Championship.
John Cena (c) v Randy Orton

Only the five matches but that has become the norm under Triple H lately, could be another match made for the show on Smackdown tonight. WrestleMania was only three weeks ago but we had a long wait between Elimination Chamber and Mania so I think the PLE's will be coming think and fast now.

On Smackdown tonight will be a John Cena appearance, Jade Cargill v Nia Jax in a number one contenders match, Aleister Black v Carmelo Hayes and a tag team match between LA Knight, Damien Priest, Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.

Love it when former factions go off to success across multiple promotions 😍

(if we include trios belts, Miyu Amasaki as well. Now I'm gonna be manifesting Lady C finally winning a belt)

Gunther vs Pat Mcafee highlights my problem with the unwritten rule of fans and writers that tapping out by a face is considered a burial and a weakness nowadays (when before tapping out just meant the submission was THAT painful).

Hilarious that Gunther tapped out at Wrestlemania but Pat Mcafee didn't

That's funny, I watched the show and I don't recall Gunther tapping out.

The show was good and easy to watch, no title changes with all the champs retaining but in terms of in ring action and match quality the show absolutely delivered.

Lyra Valkryia v Becky Lynch was my match of the night and my MVP was Pat McAfee who took all the big hits from Gunther and still got back up, Gunther passed him out at the end. I didn't enjoy the Cena-Orton match so much as I'm getting bored of the ref bumps and shenanigans, we saw enough of that during Roman's title reign so we don't need to see it again, Randy Orton RKO'ing all the officials was fun though!

Cena gave a promo when the show went off air and the crowd chanted 'thank you Cena' as he left and he seemed emotional. He attacked R-Truth in the press conference and Cena v Truth is on the cards.

Drew McIntyre took a hard bump when he head missed the table and hit the floor during the south of heaven shot with Damien Priest, he was evaluated by medical staff but apparently he is okay.

Typing is hard

I don't care if Truth has no chance of actually beating Cena. I want to believe! Even if the title reign is for 5 seconds.

There is a Saturday Night Main Event show in a couple of weeks, my guess is that Cena v Truth will be on it but it won't be for the title, Jey Uso v Logan Paul for the world title has been made for the show.

Totally forgot that Jeff Cobb debuted last night!

On Raw tonight.

CM Punk appearance
Jey Uso appearance
AJ Styles v Finn Balor
Rhea Ripley & IYO Sky v Giulia & Roxanne Perez
Penta v Chad Gable
War Raiders v The Creed Bros

There will probably be some sort of tribute to Sabu as well.

I bet money that the John Cena vs. Randy Orton match was an attraction for the crowd. And just found out that Sabu passed away on Sunday.

R.I.P. my brother. You were a brave fighter man.

Jim Ross has announced that he has colon cancer and is having treatment, wishing him the absolute best in his recovery.

Nothing much announced for Smackdown tonight other than MITB qualifying matches are starting.

Apologies for the double post but Smackdown matches have been announced.

Chelsea Green v Alexa Bliss v Michin-MITB qualifier.
Jimmy Uso v Rey Fenix v Solo Sikoa-MITB qualifier.
Tiffany Stratton v Nia Jax-WWE women's title match.

I wish Jim Ross the best during this hard time. Any type of cancer is a mess to have. Those are some new wrestlers that I've never heard of before. I know most of the ones from back during WWE (2002-2013). The Undertaker, for one. A legend.

John Cena v R-Truth and a steel cage match between Damien Priest and Drew McIntyre has been made for Saturday Night's Main Event next Saturday.

Alexa Bliss and Solo Sikoa have both qualified for their respective MITB ladder matches, Jeff Cobb had he first WWE match last night, he wrestled under the name JC Mateo and he beat LA Knight.
