Does Japanese box art = Japanese ver?

I just got a GT3 bundle (PS2 and GT3) from sony to get a PS2, along with my most favorite racing seiries in the PS family (i have I, II, and III). A while ago, I noticed at Blockbuster they have a different box art than mine. I checked it out and it turns out they got the U.S. box are, whereas I have the Japanese Box art. Does this mean my PS2 is japanese, and is it the same case of Japanese games can only be used on the Japanese PS2s, and North American on North American PS2s?

(BTW: I'm from Canada)

NO... Its just that it was packaged in Japan and only the art is red (vs blue for the US)
We bought the PS2+GT3 pack for our office (yeah, software designers know how to have fun on lunch breaks) and it works fine with either combo. We brought in a second 'normal US' ps2 and the blue art GT3 and interchanged everything. Even Linked the 2 up. So to make my long story short, its just the art. THe game is the US version and so is the PS2.
