Does tuning change the look of the car?

mainly intersted with the weight reduction stuff, like the glass? If I take out the glass and replace it with that other stuff will my car visually look different, will the windows look plastic?
What about the weight reduction stages, does it make the interior look different?

I actually don't want it to and thats why I am asking. A lot of my cars I like the original look of them (ones that I owned) and want to keep that look but would like to have them modded, make sense? I don't want my M Coupe to look like a non street car. I know in real life weight reduction means that happens, but I like the classic looks of cars and not moded looks (unless they are "race" cars, like an M3 GTR)

Only changes to visuals are racing modification, aero kits/wings, and the carbon hoods.

Oh and the titanium racing exhaust changes the exhaust tips on Premium cars.

I take it that suspension tuning doesn't change the visuals of the cars as well?

Would be kinda funny to jack up a car real high and watch it wobble around the corners... :)

lol - yeah and on the other end of the spectrum it would be cool to drop it to the ground for handling and see the look.

Both change the car's appearance. The FC suspension as it comes installed does not affect ride height, however.

One of the first things I did clear back in GT1.. get some beatbox, lighten, jack it up, stiffen the springs/sways etc. With enough steering input & soft racing tires it'd go up/around corners, on 2 wheels.

Somewhat moreso. Camber changes are pretty damn obvious, as are ride height changes, but then they both always have been.

What about Toe Angles ?
They were somewhat noticeable in GT4, On the Right angle of course.

It's all as noticeable as it should be as far as I'm concerned, since the beginning. This is stuff you have to aggressively change on even a real car to see, from a short distance.

No, If you notice: Standard cars are not allowed to have an upgraded hood. (note: you are not able to change it because it alters the look of the car!)
But they are allowed the glass option, and the exhaust (I am not counting the race exhaust) modifications.
But in premium cars they are allowed the upgraded hood, which changes the visual appearance.
Conclusion: Therefore, visual upgrades are only applicable to Premium cars.

*This does not apply to the suspension settings, which can alter the visual aspect if changed manually.

To the OP, as far as the little stuff, weight reduction/glass etc, no, I've not noticed them to change things visually and personally wish they did. I'm all for the original appearance of certain cars I've owned, or wanted to own.. in the case that I've got a really modded version I simply buy multiples & very lightly tweek my "street" cars, as I want them to drive somewhat realistic compared to their appearance as well. For your taste, (as per the rest of my reply), suggest you simply buy the mid to high-grade suspension so you can alter ride height back up to stock and don't buy anything obvious (where possible) like hoods or exhausts. (the part that includes a muffler) For what it's worth, the muffler exhausts also alter stock sound, though the other exhaust parts don't seem to have much impact. Some of the other engine tuning options may alter it as well. I've not tested them one by one yet.

Well, if you want to get technical, I'm pretty sure all the suspension kits will automatically lower the car a tad, enough so that it's visually seen, (on standards or premiums), though the change may be less noticeable on different cars. I just tested this on both a Triumph Spitfire (standard) which I'll admit wasn't very noticeable - but did change it, and an RX-7 ('91 Premium). (Rotary Junkie, I'd have expected you to notice the FC to change an FD's appearance ;)) The change may also be even less noticeable on smaller TV's, but I'm just on a 25", oldschool flat TUBE here, so nothing that big or fancy. Also for the record, none of the kits denote a ride height change from stock, in settings. I understand why they might not, but wish they did, as it'd take the trial & error out of returning a car to a more stock looking ride height.

That reminded me, ALL muffler exhausts change the tips, not just the titanium ones. Don't remember off-hand if it just does premiums or not, but expect they'd change on standards too.
