Back in January, we were pretty impressed with the looks of the D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition, not to mention the specs. Now, with this Bare Naked Carbon Edition, we're really paying attention.
Donkervoort team went to work on the interior as well, with carbon elements found on the dashboard, seats, door panels, window frame and door sills. Even the ignition cylinder housing, belt-and-roll bar trim and headlight housings are made of carbon fiber.
Just as impressive is the painting process where every Bare Naked Carbon Edition GTO has a unique UV-coating applied to each carbon fiber component by hand, in either matte or gloss finish. Customers can even choose any color they want for this particular process.
By using visible carbon fiber components instead of a normal color paint system, Donkervoort managed to drop several kilos of weight.
The Donkervoort GTO Bare Naked Carbon Edition weighs less than 700 kg, which means that it can rocket from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.8 seconds. That's pretty much what you get from a hypercar. The top speed however is 270 km/h (167 mph) - which isn't even on par with a supercar but that's not what this type of car is about.
