This is a well established weekly event for friendly and clean drivers. The rules and formats already been used for a few months. If you are looking to overtake 4 or 5 cars on the first corner and won the race on the first lap, this is the wrong event for you.

However, if you enjoy a bit of tactical racing with long intensive battle lap after lap without the worry of getting bump off the track every other corner, you have come to the right place. There are some pictures and videos onhttp://www.gt5racecentral.com/seriesdtmvsjtc.htm

You don’t have to be a very quick diver (as long as you don’t fall off the track to often) to join and enjoy race in this event, we have some sample rules and handicap systems to close up the racings.

From 6th May, for 4 Sundays, we will be running a team championship and looking for 2 to 3 more friendly and clean drivers.

All points goes to the team only, there is no drivers championship.

Details of the event as following:

So, every position counts, every team member is just as important to race for every position.

All the points from each driver of the team per race will be added together, take away the penalties and divided by the numbers of drivers, give the points for that race.

6) Handicap system:

- ‘The Club’ the top 2 finishes of each race will lose 20bhp.
Club 20 : with 542bhp
Club 40 : with 522bhp
Club 60 : with 502bhp

Anyone finished the night in Club 40 will start next Sunday in Club 20.
Anyone finished the night in Club 60 will start next Sunday in Club 40.

- ‘KGC’ the last 4 finishes (or last 3 finish if there are only 11 cars or less racing on the next race) of each race will start next race on 1030kg.

Members of the Club cannot join KGC even if he/she finished a race last.

7) Lobby setup

-ABS and Traction Control allowed, all other aids are off
-Damage: weak
-Penalties: depending on which track
-Boost: off
-Grip reduction on track edge: low
-Tire wear/fuel consumption: on
-Slipstreaming: depending on which track
-Mic off
-Tyres: not restricted
-Grid start with false start check
-For race 2, 3 and 4, reverse grid base on previous result

8) Rules:

-Save replay of each race.

-No blue flags, standard race rules apply to both the lead car and the lap car.

-You may only drive through a car that is transparent if it is a lap down, on penalties or recoving from an off. You must not drive through to pass a car you are battling with.

-Everyone behaves like sporting gentlemen at all times. You are expected to compete in a fair and honest manner, to drive responsibly in a way that’s not likely to ruin the racing enjoyment of your fellow drivers/friends, no aggressive driving please.

-Show some patience, think F1 and not touring cars, safe overtake only.

-No bad general behaviour under all circumstances, no abusive or offensive language (including but not limited to swearing) in any of the chat.

-If you can’t see the car close from behind or side by side (may be at your blind spot) always give extra room when you turn into or out of the next corner, better then have an accident.

-You're not allowed to overtake other drivers when entering the pitlane.

-It is the responsibility of the car returning to the track to ensure there are no collisions so that no other drivers have to manoeuvre or brake to allow you to resume racing. If there's a chance of a collision, wait and be patient as other drivers have the right of way.

-If you are the leading car in a battle you have the right to the racing line, whatever you may deem that to be.
You are no longer classed as the leading car when the driver behind has his front wheels level with your rear wheels. At this stage you are now classed as 'side-by-side'
When side-by-side you can no longer taker the optimum racing line as this will either result in an accident or someone being ran off the track, you must follow either the inside or outside line of the corner depending on which you are on. You are not allowed to cut across the track until you are clear of the car alongside.
Not sticking to these rules when in a 'battle' will result in someone's race being ruined, either by a crash or by penalties and most of all it spoils the fun!

-Times when to wait. A rough guide of knowing when to wait for a driver after a strong move is as follows:
If after the move you think you will need to say 'sorry' back in the lobby, then that is the time you should wait and let the 'victim' re pass you.

9) Penalties:

9.1 If you are responsible for a incident there will be 1 penalty point for the first time on one night of racing, and 2 penalty points for the second time, 3 points for the third time etc…..

9.2 If you are responsible for an incident, you must stop at a safe place immediately allow the innocent driver to pass freely to re-establish ahead of your position, failing to stop will net your team 2 penalty points. If the innocent driver loses 3 places after the incident, there will be 3 penalty points, 4 places = 4 point etc etc…..

9.3 If you've overtaken someone using "questionable tactics", such as push pass or corner cutting, you must give back that place, failing to do so will result in 1 to 2 penalty points for the first time, 2 to 3 points for the second time etc etc…

9.4 When defending on the straight, the leading car has the right to choose his own line down a straight. He can change his racing line once while driving down a straight (move from the outside line to the inside, or vice versa). Each additional change of racing line will net 1 penalty point. As the leading car approaches the next corner, he can return to the racing line of their choice. However, he is not allowed to move into the path of an overlapping car or of the car behind and causes an accident.

9.5 After 'Club" and 'KGC' check, you must stay on track and not to go back to the lobby, it will cost 2 penalty points.

9.6 You must not disconnect from the lobby/race for oil change or any other reason (except for connection problems), it will cost 2 penalty points and you must start from the back on the next race (allow every car to pass you before turn 1) if not that will be another 3 penalty points.

9.7 You must not drive through to pass a transparent car you are battling with, that will cost your team 2 points.

9.8 Failing to comply with the team car selection rule, 2 points per car:
No more then 2 per model can be used in each race.
Each team must used min of 1 car from both of the manufacturers in the car group.

9.9 If you DNF/DNS the last race for any reason, or you came in late, you must start from the back on the next race (allow every car to pass you before turn 1) if not that will be 3 penalty points.

9.10 Cars on the race track have right-of-way over cars entering the race track from the pits. You have to take care not to interfere with other drivers on the track. Swerving in front of upcoming cars to defend your position is not allowed. When there are other cars around or other car(s) coming down the straight, you must not cross the white line and stay on the same side of the track as the pit exit until the next corner, or there will be 2 penalty points.

9.11 There is no going into car setup on restarts or at Q, it will cost 3 penalty points.

9.12 If you are late and arrive after ‘Club’ and ‘KGC’ check, you may still join Q/race, but it will be your responsibility to have your car set at the correct bhp and weight, there will be a car check after the race, if the bhp or weight is incorrect, you will be disqualified for that race.

9.13 2 WHEELS ON TRACK AT ALL TIMES, track as the black part inside the white line (Kerbs are not part of track). If you gain a place or defended a place by cutting the track, you must give up that place and allow the car behind to pass you, or there will be 3 penalty points.

Any complains, you must inform your team captain with details within 48hrs of the race, and you must saved a replay of that race.

10) Restarts:

If someone had a connection problem / game error at the start (disconnection or black screen etc), he must try to make his way back to the lobby and send a 'restart' massage on chat within 5 min of the start, all cars already started will race as normal. If I see the restart massage within 5 min, I will call for a restart and we will take a random grid. Only 1 restart per race. No change of setups.

Hi Fernando

Welcome to this friendly event, best thing to do is come along to our next Team Snail testing on next Wen 9th May 8:45pm UK time. It is more important to be clean than quick. You will need to use one car from group A, any NSX/DTM (except CLK) are available, and one car from group B any Nissan/Toyota (except GTR08) are available.

Next track is Autumn Ring on 13 May. Have a good read of the OP and send me a FR - m1racing, see you on track next week 👍

Welcome to Snail Racing Team, already sent you PM. Can you send me your email address by PM please.

Hi guys.

I'd like to apply for Team Snail. I still don't have a group B car, but I hope I'll by next wednesday. I guess I could only be a part time driver, and I want to know if I can be fast (and clean) enough for the team.

That is good:tup:

New rule everyone, please read:

9.9 If you DNF/DNS the last race for any reason, or you came in late, you must start from the back on the next race (allow every car to pass you before turn 1) if not that will be 3 penalty points.

That was an epic night of racing everybody, it was non-stop battling all night, i enjoyed it a lot 👍👍👍 congrats to perthul he drove like kimi last night :)

Team Donkey got off to an awful start in the first 2 races, but we came good in race 3 taking the top 5 positions :sly: 👍 (only just tho as i nearly blew our perfect result) :)

On another note can the team captains check the replay from race 4, start of lap 14 for me. i got blocked by a team snail racer as he came out of the pitlane (must be team snails tactics), if he had stayed in the white line as he exited the pits i dont think there would of been any inciddent. but he pulled right accross the track onto the racing line where i was coming down the straight at 180mph, which caused me to outbrake myself and run wide and get a 5 second penalty 👎 maybe he just didnt see me coming down the straight as he exited the pits, but everybody should be checking as they enter the track from the pitlane, as the rules below state:

8) rules:

-cars on the race track have right-of-way over cars entering the race track from the pits. You have to take care not to interfere with other drivers on the track. Swerving in front of upcoming cars to defend your position is not allowed. You have to stay on the same side of the track as the pit exit until the next corner.

9) penalties:

9.2 if you are responsible for an incident, you must stop at a safe place immediately allow the innocent driver to pass freely to re-establish ahead of your position, failing to stop will net your team 2 penalty points. If the innocent driver loses 3 places after the incident, there will be 3 penalty points, 4 places = 4 point etc etc…..

There is already a well-established S.N.A.I.L. racing group on this forum. I ask and recommend that you change the name of your team to not lead to confusion.

Thank you.

What a great nights racing!
Fast, clean and fun. With plenty of, but not too much, door banging!

The highlight for me was Race 3.
After taking a battering in the first 2 races Team Donkey hit back, and hit back hard! lol
I think it was one of the most satisfying races I've ever had. Being the tail gunner and holding off all you slimey snails was so enjoyable. I thought when Richy got the time penalty a lap from the end we had blown the clean sweep, but he didn't let me down!:D If anything you eased the pressure on Jokair and myself as you were giving Mike and w7 a problem from behind.
Its a shame we couldn't repeat the result in race 4 but I tried a 1 stop and it failed massivly.
Time to become a race steward and check on all your dodgy manouvers!

Roll on Autumn Ring-piece!!

If that confusses anybody OMG

lol

Have any of you guys put in some laps around the Autumn Ring yet? Just wondered what a decent time around there is...

Yes, our quick Snail (perth) already done some quick laps, but we can't tell the Donkeys, I will PM you

Last Sunday - What a night of racing, everyone has up their game and race like pro!! Great fun!!

So much highlight for me, the opening battle with Dave was exciting, 4 or 5 laps into the race he was still on my tail, I though this is not going to work, if I kept at this pace I will run our of tyres before end of the race, good job he ran out of tyres before I did, and I just need to manage the tyres/gap to the end, Snails finished 1,2,3, dream start to the team, thank you team for all the hard work/testing etc…..

There were many clean battles with Richy & Aug on many occasions:tup:in race 2 3 & 4. Following a wall of Donkeys, and watching the back end of the Head Donkey for most of race 3, no Snail got pass:ouch:, not good for the Snail team:grumpy:. Trying to overtake Jok for the first half of race 4 was very challenging, took me nearly 10 laps:banghead:to get the job done.

I think the best race of the night was race 4, there were 1 stop, 2 stops, soft, med may be hard tyres used, and by lap 23, the first 7 cars were still within 10s of each other, and there were 5 cars in a pack battling for 2nd place, by end of lap 24 the pack of 5 was like:

sfLaR.jpg

Last lap, braking into turn 1, with very little tyres left for everyone, some on soft and some on med:

ZFzLg.jpg

the Head Donkey is in the background somewhere, you can see him if you went to Specsavers;)

At the end, Perth (our Quick Snail) won the race (but only by a few seconds) and Hortus won the battle for 2nd place and Richy finished 3rd appox 0.1s ahead of me:crazy:. Can’t wait until Sunday for another Snail vs Donkey:cheers:.

Full race results will be out tomorrow, Doc and I still working on the penalties.

Race results is up, see post 2.

Penalties:

1 penalty point to Team Donkey, Race 4 lap 8 - rule 9.2, Head Donkey was responsible for an incident with Captain Snail

1 penalty point to Snail Racing, Race 4 lap 14 - rule 8, W7 did not stay on the same side of the track as the pit exit until the next corner, as Richy coming down the straight

After 1 penalty point to each team, Snail Racing is 0.1 points ahead of Team Donkey :crazy::crazy:How close can it get after 10 cars racing for 2 hours/4 races.

DONKEY REQUIRED!

There is a place available in Team Donkey for the upcoming races.

If you are interested drop me a PM and come along to our testing on Thursday night.

I don't think i'm the "quick snail" this time, yo is back afterall. Still quicker than those hairy dumb 4 legged creatures.

For Race 2 Antumn Ring this Sunday:

Club 20 = pert and m1
KGC = jokair and Bob

There are a few additional rules:

9.10 Cars on the race track have right-of-way over cars entering the race track from the pits. You have to take care not to interfere with other drivers on the track. Swerving in front of upcoming cars to defend your position is not allowed. When there are other cars around or other car(s) coming down the straight, you must not cross the white line and stay on the same side of the track as the pit exit until the next corner, or there will be 2 penalty points.

9.11 There is no going into car setup on restarts or at Q, it will cost 3 penalty points.

Added on 12th May
9.13 2 WHEELS ON TRACK AT ALL TIMES, track as the black part inside the white line (Kerbs are not part of track). If you gain a place or defended a place by cutting the track, you must give up that place and allow the car behind to pass you, or there will be 3 penalty points.
