Drag Racing...am I missing something?

I just tried the drag races. It seems pretty boring to me, what am I missing? You mash the accelerator, change gears, keep it straight, and you're done.

I was afraid it would turn out to be like this. To make drag racing exciting I think they would need to introduce a lot more variables like dynamic tracks (patches of rubber sticking to the track from a previous race), moisture in air and on track, temperature, or probably a whole complex weather system and many more elements. So, no, you're not missing something... they are
Now you just have to set up a car for drag racing in general. If they'd introduce these factors you'd have to set up a car for each race. Sure, the driving might not be as exciting, but at least it would be harder to win.

Nonetheless I think this is a fun addition to the game and drag racing online should give you a bit more of a challenge.

Hi, I never seen a drag race where you had to throw it in gear once the green light comes on. I always had it in gear and released the clutch on green light or just releasd the brake to go in a automatic car. Never,never ever throw in gear. In this game, the car just jumps and they dq you. It's nuts. Please devs fix this and it might be fun. Without its usless.

what he said. It's pointless to even use the clutch i just paddle shifted it all the way.

Exactly, sooooooooooo disappointed.

I was all ready with my G27/PS3, right foot on the gas left foot on the clutch shifted to first then DQ. Whhhhhhaaaattttt???? Tried it several times ... i just gave up, unfortunately for me, i can't return the DLC.

I thought drag racing in this game wouldn't really exciting either. But drag racing in helmet cam is so much fun. And the fact that everyone is pretty much neck and neck makes it exciting too. And I'm really glad I bought this DLC for the Speedhunter cars and drag racing upgrades as well. Love my 1000+ HP Lamborghini Mercielago. Just need to tune it to be a little more stable.

EDIT: I just realized drag upgrades aren't used in anything BUT drag. Never mind.

Still love the drag upgrades though.
