launch in a different gear than first, it depends on the car, but i found out that when i launched in 2nd gear in my HKS R33 i cut about .800 seconds of y time!

It works for the Lotuses really well. Then, you cold always just set your first gear lower (spend more time in it).

one time i was drag racing Joey in a GT90, don't remember what he was driving...anyways, the first time he won and then we played again but this time i started out in 2nd gear and beat him. My opinion would be that it helps on some cars but not others and:
no, no, no launching in another gear helps elminate wheel spin
I'm not so sure about that...If you have a car with enough HP to start to spin in 2nd you would be there longer burning your tires off.

I think I was in the Atlantique LM. Something Venturi, and I probably wouldn't race a GT90 with any other than the LM.

Launchin in 3rd with gear settings around 10-15, if it works for ur car. If it doesnt, launch in 2nd with gears around 5-9. I only tried these on muscle cars, dont kno about ricers. That reminds me, bak to FWD dragging! 370hp integra type r!

The upper-end turbocharged Integras in GT2 are really a sad reminder of the limits of a front-wheel drive car. They cannot turn under hard acceleration (Don't even try arguing. I've done all I can), they chew through those front tires 4 times as quickly as rear-drives do, and they hit that proverbial brick wall of air at around 90-105mph. FFs are pretty fun to chuck around, and always cool to beat bigger, stronger cars with. But when you go and try to cram all the power you can into the front end, you're asking for trouble.
