Been trying to look for a nice drag setup for the spoon civic, the best time i can get is a 12.557, and i know a fellow on these forums named jspoon has done a 11.5 with one, i tried searching for these settings but couldnt find em. so any help or settings would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

Edit - well after taking Mafia_boys advice & launching in 3rd gear, ive managed to finally crack into the 11 sec mark. here are my settings, please feel free to give your opinions as i know i can get a lower time.

NA Stage 3, Race exh, NOS, Race sus., Triple clutch, Race flywheel, Standard transmission & standard LSD
R5 tyres front, R2 tyres rear

Spring rate - 8/18
Ride Height - 80/125
Damper Bound - 1/10
Rebound - 1/10
Camber - 0/0
Toe - 0/0
Stabilizers - 1/1

ASM over - 0
ASM under - 0
TCS - 7

Ballast weight - 125
Front-rear balance - -50

With these settings ive hit an 11.765 launching in 3rd NOS all the way, and that on a standard gearbox, so im pretty happy with that but i know i can go lower. LMK what you think...

That's for an EG Civic I-R. :P And Spoon Civic is another kettle of fish altogether.

Well, I'm 2nd to Jspoon (he's 11.4's, I'm 11.5's) so all I can say is this:
-Ratios, make them extra close
-Ballast
-Downforce
-Suspension settings
-Concentrate on your 0-100km/h, 0-160km/h splits in your replays, anything under 4.9 & 7.7 should get you an 11sec pass and around a 220km/h+ trap speed.....not an 11.4 or 5, but in the ball park atleast.
-Don't just keep it on the rev limiter in 1st when you launch, wheelspin is your enemy
-Play with TCS.

Anymore help ask the boys at Aussie Tuners, MFT or RRV.

Im doing the 12.5 with the standard gearing, everytime i use custom gearing i seem to loose time no matter how close the gears are to each other.

I launch anywhere between 8k - 10k rpm. i hit NOS when it hits 2nd/3rd gear, i dont hit it right at the start because all itll do is wheelspin like a bitch.

So do i set ballast at max & weight balance at -50? On the suspension side, ive got it lowered at the front, higher at the back, soft springs front, stiffer springs rear. I just feel ive done almost everything i can to make it drag spec but still not getting the times. ill fiddle around with her today and see if i can break in the high 11s, then ill be happy.

In the meantime mafia_boy, do you care to share your drag settings for the Spoon civic? Cheers and thanks for all the help!

Asking people to share their drag settings is like asking to take the family jewels, apart from RRV. :P
I will ask this however....you are launching in 1st am I assuming that fact?? In that case, don't. Your launch rpm's are better suited to a 3rd gear launch....you may drop heaps in revs but the speed picks up just as fast. Do the oil change and Stage 3 N/A and NOS and you should have 310hp+ and 100hp NOS with an 800kg kerb weight.

As for ballast, weight balance at -50 means the weight is right at the front end....then fiddle with the weights, but like I said in the EG Civic thread, a minimum of 75kg is needed on all FF's. Some like the SRT-4 need the full 200kg just to keep the near 700Nm of torque (more than Spec-C) from shredding the front tyres every gear!!

Mafs!!

At first I had been questioning the sanity of maxing front downforce... You need it. Bad.

Otherwise, you'll be boiling R5s at 130mph. With 330hp.

And yes, people are very protective of their drag settings, as well as 300mph settings.

I'm not, so issallgood.

Homework for the day RJ, try an SRT-4, compare power figures against fully worked Spec-C then see how that power tries to go to the ground.

I'll give you the guidelines to get in the ballpark of going fast, but not the exact specs of my car, the customer's rides can't be faster than the company showcase. :P With those specs, you should get 11's....but there's about 20 other FWD cars that can hit the 11sec mark, and 10 that hit under 11.80's. I might do a showcase of cars down the track to get some of the unknown FF's into the chase. :)

Even with TCS on it's like that RJ. Only car I need more than normal TCS on for a 1/4 mile run.

Civic Nut, take a photo, host the time on imageshack and post it up in the 1/4 mile thread now. :) That time puts you in the Top 15 for FF's.

PM sent with more tips for ya seeing that's a great improvement. :sly:

Spring rate is fine RJ for him, I run a crapload less than what he is and I get better times and my car doesn't wheelhop!! It wheelhops when the spring rate is TOO HARD because it then starts to axle tramp!! The ONLY thing I'd change would be front rebound and THAT'S IT!!

Checked the time in the 1/4 mile thread, wonderful effort there Civic nut, especially without the wing!! :nervous:

Mafs!!

Yes, but I define wheelhop as what you call axle tramp. The softer springs made my EG basketball the tires on shifts. Hard.
