one of my favorites is the ae86

What people don't realize in this game is that 400 hp in a drift car is actually a lot. But in this game people think it's too low, others got 500-700hp monsters while I got a nice little 230hp car.

Power isn't everything, Its weight :P

You should check out my 145hp version. 👍

Seriously though, there is no best drift car, favorite sure, but that all comes down to personal preference.

Indeed a matter of preference. Right now I'm enjoying the Blitz ER34 (P). Tricky to master when new to GT5 drifting, but an awesome thing once you get it down. Mine is stock, no setups no nothing, just comfort hards.

Mercedes SLS amg, bone stock on Comfort mediums or soft (preference).

Seriously, it may seem ridiculous, but try it out - it is an amazingly good car at drifting.

This.

Ran my Blitz Skyline, Supra, and TVR 350 last night online and got some compliments. Then I got a laugh from the room when I pulled out a Prowler until the first turn...

Its all about settings; any FR car can drift in GT5 as long as the suspension, tires, and LSD are set right.

I find that heavier cars tend to run lines cleaner but it can be tough to do transitions in them. My TVR Cerbera Speed 12 gets the most points but its not very fun to drive. Have a RUF GTR that is fun - its a MR but because of that it seems that you can be very liberal with the throttle.

A lot fr, if not almost all FR cars can drift without any tuning at all, I'm sure there are exceptions, but for the most part added tuning is just icing on the cake. The Nissan 2000GT and Toyota Supra RZ come to mind.

On topic: My favorite car right now is my Trueno, its simply too much fun to drift, plus that "David vs. Goliath" feeling when going up against more powerful cars is addicting. 👍

Currently, I'm really enjoying my Z33.

Usually if I'm having an off drift run, I can rely on my blue Sileighty, seems to be my best tuned drift car. Can't beat the feeling you get when you pull off amazing drifts with an underpowered car in front of overpowered muscle machines.

So far my favorite is the Mazda RX-8. I tried the Z33 and I don't like it nearly as much as the Mazda. Not the most torque but spins up to red-line pretty quick.

FORD SVT LIGHTNING!!!! trucks are hella easy to drift, and fun when you make everyone else look bad...especially if thats all you drift in the wintertime here in alaska!
my personal favorite would be my 88 toyota supra or my AE86, or my 86 mr2.

My top 3 cars:

S14 Silvia 96

Sileighty 98

Toyota Levin 83

Then I have my cars i'm still feeling out like my Holden Monaro(Pontiac GTO) or my GSX-R4 concept which I like drifting.

My go to cars have been varied...i tried to keep it kosher w/ the premium s13, but i outgrew it i guess... so my main drift cars are:
premium renault clio v6(midnite purp/honolulu blue wheels)
premium fc rx-7(matte light blue/white wheels)
Aristo V300(sand beige metallic)
RUF RGT(some sort of grey)
i have others that i bring out from time to time, but at some pt in a online lobby you'll see me driving one of these..

First of: I am, without a shadow of doubt, the worst, most horrible, unskilled drifter this world has ever seen.

But to get the credits on the new seasonals I use an Elise 111R RM. Set up for huuuuuuge oversteer. Have never seen this thing go in a straight line in that set up.

And: having tried it a little I manage to get a 100 points more than I need for gold. Cool :)

Its hard to find a top favorites into my 80 and so properly set cars for drifting. My only plaint is not be able to put them on tracks at most lobbies, mainly because praticaly half of this list is below 300 hp the standard for drifters is above 400 hp.

So there is no how to find balanced tandems. And most people doesn´t know how to respect low powered cars like i do when im using my SLS AMG and i find any B-Class car.
