I joined a room a few days ago with a certain team whose name I will not say. The room was a drift competition room on nurburgring gp.
Now I've been in more than a few drift competitions online official/unofficial and only a few times have I seen this style of judging.
There were 4 sections at which there was someone watching each point and judging. I did not suggest this but I figured these guys were experienced enough with the game to know how the judging is done.
Each section gives a vote and for each run the majority of votes wins that run. There was also a problem with the first run being forward and the second going backward on the track. This causes a confusion as to having 1 player do the same thing twice and is not all rounded. This is not that much of an issue. But here's what got me angry; My semi-final battle against a guy in a RUF went well during the first run. Then for the second run without anyone saying "Go" he just launches and me having a high powered car chased him in time to catch the first clipping point at which point I had to cut my line to catch up causing my two front tires to go on the rumble strip. They counted this as a major deduction and at the 3rd clipping point the RUF came off the drift line and went outside the track for a brief minute which I saw and continued my drift. Then the car cuts back infront of me when i had to slow down causing my car to straighten out and I cruised past the 4th judging point thinking it was a clear win on my part.
We turn around to make 1 last run the opposite directon and before votes can even be typed in he launches again without warning and this time I did not follow. I typed to him that he had to wait but the he was a friend of the judges and they counted it as a "run". Even though I "lost" the 2nd run it would still be tied and me not moving should not count as a run but they did anyway. I ended up losing that battle and questioning it which they had no valid argument as to why he won (the guy with the RUF had a mic btw and kept quiet about everything). Then as usual there is always one 14 year old who thinks he needs to curse at everyone who is not a part of their team.
This method is clearly not effective and can sometimes be bias.
just to let everyone know once again
