Drift against or Drift with?
Im seeing many threads about drift competitions, drift duels and so on...
Since the Online mode doesn´t have an official scoring scheme, and the drift trial is not enough accurated to measure good and bad drifts, and even if the trial rules would be applied to the online mode, probably the machine wouldn´t be able to calculate precisely the tandems, the lines, the ocasional touches...
So every thread i see in here and discussions about duel are based on the official competitions like D1 and such...
So i ask:
What is the point of all about?
Competitive drift is mandatory? Does it must be measured to decide who is the only winner?
When i see a couple dancing, i dont see winners and losers.
When i see any capoeira exibition (brazilian martial art, for who doesn´t know) i also don´t see losers or winners.
I could point many other sports or pratices that should not be necessary competitive, but for any reason the society believe that is only enjoyable if there is a winner and a loser.
IMO im on the side of the drift with, because i consider the best drifters the ones who helps me to drift better, no matter what position we are. But everyday is harder to see someone that can´t treat his skills without go in an agressive direction, pushing the car to the limit since the first moment and seeing his mate as the enemy.
Constant touches, intentional increase of speed to force who is on front to do some mistake, dangerous overtakes... im against all that. Maybe some of you must be thinking "go drift with your granma, then", and i answer that maybe i will.
I don´t really understand how the "competition at any price" can help to make the GT5 drift scene bigger and stronger. Ok, there are space for everyone, i just ask you please to not bully in the lobbies who are not there for competition. This is not fight club.
