Drift Settings

Wasnt sure which area to post this cause the Drifters area sounds like real world drifting not GT drifting. What are some good settings for an easy to drift car such as a S13 Silvia? I just want to know becuase i cant drift at all well on GT3 unless im driving on wet tracks and i want to learn real bad because driving sideways is very fun. Can anyone help me?

The Drifter's forum is for everything related to drifting. The drifters crowd tends to bounce around a lot between real life, anime, and GT3, so we just put it all in there. I'll move this for you. Thanks for actually bothering to think about where it should go!

Welcome to GTPlanet.

one big tip i can give you is, there are many drifts but the one i mainly do is that flick movement one. Can't remember the name but it's where you you're going into a right turn (for ex.), stay in the middle flick the car to the left and then suddenly to the right to get an angle. Oh and soft tires in front and slicks in back help a lot. And well practice!

DO NOT MIX TIRES!

I second that. Put the same tires on front and rear, ESPECIALLY for learning. I've got some decent settings on my page below, but for the most part you really have to figure it out on your own because everyone has their own driving style.

Nah. I drive my Skylines with the same tires all around. What type depends on how much hp. Usually Its Super softs because I prefer 900+ hp. :D Its probably wrong, but its the way I like it.

I thought that sim tyres would be best cause they will smoke good. But what i really want is the suspension settings such as damper, camber etc. Anyone got some for a popular drift car?

Actually he's right, they smoke so much more that it probably gives you a pretty good advantage in the competitions. I use sports tires usually though, sims are just unbearable. I even took the time to get good on them but sports are so much more fun.

it seems much easier when there mixed
Yes, it is much easier. Unfortunately, it doesn't teach you proper weight transfer. If you did that at D1 the judges would seriously laugh their asses off the whole time. It would be like going to a bicycle race with training wheels.

I could not have said it better myself. Don't mix tires, and if your going to use simulation tires try to keep the horsepower in the 300's for drifting. :D :D

Good god... who needs 300hp for sims? I guess it's not THAT bad but I definately would go any higher than that. Since you're a n00b, stick to very low hp.
