Drift skills

They just practice like ****. I'm good, and rival some of these videos. But many of them i can never do. I saw one with a guy holding a completely sideways drift around that sharp turn on Tial Mountain, and he didn't even hit anything. WOW.

do you use the standard PS2 controller or the steering wheel?

I use a controller, i don't want to spend alot of money just to help me play a game. I can get racing pedals, steering wheel, gauge, and a sticker for a real car with how much some cost.

They both require practice. It's just the matter of which one you prefer.

Drifting requires practice and a lot of patience. The good drifters spends lots of time with the minute(small) stuff that makes a drift so good. When you crash, don't let that discourage you and try to keep on drifting. If you need help, you can ask many people around here. By the way, welcome to GTP forums 69 Yenko Camaro :)

Yeah, and remeber, its a game. If you try something new, slam into a wall at 120, you can just lay on the gas again, laugh and try again. Its not going to kill you to hit a wall.

Yeah, it's hard for me to keep a full drift without hitting the rail or hill.
That turn is actualy quite easy. The only somewhat difficult part is judging the entrance speed. Personaly, with FR, I brake into the corner, then just keep the angle with throttle control. Easy. :D ;)

I started with a MR2 GTS, and am still trying to get it right. Just gotta keep practicing, and you'll do well.
Personally, I use an analog stick, even though I've known some people to drift with a d-pad. Just find an easy to control car, a good setup, and figure out what works best for you.

the MR2 is going to be hard to drift at first until u learn how to drift well... the momentum of the engine in the back tends to make drifts real wide...

Not really......if you let up on the gas and feint into the corner, downshift and throttle till the car flips sideways, it carries a drift quite nicely. You just gotta remember to upshift for balance, and downshift to carry through.....do that a few times, and you can carry a long corner. :sly:

Its hard to say.... its really whatever your comfortable with, i personaly like the sti prototype, but you might hate it. It's what ever feels comfortable to you.
