Biggest issue is when you have to dial in countersteer. The analogs will dial too much lock in and send you into the opposite wall if you just flick it to full countersteer. Instead, just move it a little when countersteering. It may take a while, and a lot of hitting the outer wall, but you'll get it eventually.

But to be honest, from the start I thought you were going to say something like "I find it hard to drift by TILTING the remote" haha, but this is gt4 so tilt has no effect, right?
yes what rotary just said is exactly the case, ha i know the tilt doesn't work, believe me i tried it. But also i don't remember it being this twitchy with my ds2 on ps2.
