So have you drifters out there try drifting on GTPSP yet? I've tried drifting a few time but it is quite difficult to control the throttle and the steering lol.

It's not illegal if the shop put it out early. The shop could be fined though.

Obviously the release date is tomorrow. First thing that came to mind when this guy wants to know something about drifting when the game isn't even out yet, is that it's either hacked or something else illegal.

For beginners, get an FR car with no more than 400bhp, and install racing tyres. Stay away from sports tires. Decrease ride height, stiffen suspension, turn off traction control, distribute brake balance towards the rear, increase camber angle and you should be good to go. Manual transmission helps a lot. Downshift every time you drift.

I've had some marginal success so far. Without the ability to adjust the LSD though it is becoming a problem dealing with the "whiplash" effect when exiting a drift or using throttle off oversteer to initiate a drift.

My best results so far have been with AWD cars as they have a tendency to exit drifts more naturally than FR cars. I've also had some success with the Trueno.

The lack of pressure sensitive buttons and horrible analog stick makes it fairly difficult. I feared with the Drift Trial mode they'd make it too simple to drift, but clearly that isn't the case.

And if a mod sees this, any chance we could get some Drifting/Tuning subforums up?

I just picked sazuka and BMW 120i, N1 tires, TCS and ASM off, professional physics.

I'm doing doughnuts in a 120i right now!!!

The physics are defiantly different from GT4 and more GT5:P

Great news!!

Remember some of the world (Australia, New Zealand etc) at the time of the first post it was already Oct 1st morning, don't know where he is from but just saying.

I have managed to buy quite a few games a few early.

Currently drifting a S2000 now. Defiantly GT5:P physics! As for the controls, I use the triggers for shifting, the, nub for seeing. X for gas, [ ] for breaks. Totally comfortable for drifting! As for the physics, it lets you drift without counter steering. I'm able to do doughnuts the Honda. Counter steering with the nub is easy.

I'm getting the same experience as I did with a wheel, GT5:P and the RX7 on eiger.

I see I've been using the Up and Down button to shift lol. that makes it kinda hard. I do notice it is much easier to slide around in trial mode lol.
And I don't live in europe or australia. I live in USA but if you have a kmart or target around you those stores often make mistakes and put games in case before release days. I remember seeing Halo3: ODST 3 days before official launch at a kmart nearby but I didn't buy it since I'm not halo fan. I have saw many games in their glass case before release days it isn't rocket science.

Its a great system for drfiting with the d-pad. Its very very sad that PD can pull off drifting better than EA's full console game NFS Shift.....

I really love the gameplay. Watching my R31 Drifting with 210HP and seeing the way the suspension and wheels move is very impressive.

Going to Post the video in a little while.
