Drifting Manga needs YOU!

of all the drifting racing mangas out there i have yet to see one that stands among great works

Initial D's characters were about as animate as a glass of room tempereature water siting in the middle of a table. moitionless, tasteless, without purpose.

to fill this void of drifting media I have taken appropriate steps in creating(writing,drawing,organizing,compiling) the next
drifting MANGA SERIES....however this is such a huge task for one man, especialy when it comes down to believable story elements, common occurences, interactions between characters, technical speciafications and accuracy of vehicle movements, action, specifications, AND SO FORTH.

IF THERE IS ANYON WHO IS OBSCESSED ABOUT DRIFTING/anime, IT WOULD HAVE TO BE THE BROWSERS OF THIS forum.
thats a compliment.

scenario ideas are constantly being worked out, between several other members, and there are alot of big steps to be taken before any initial production.
you all got the ball rolling now its time to pick it up and spill those brains oozing with media rich drifting scenes.

I said in another thread that I want to be a character.

Mark-friend of the main character who talks trash about all the other drivers even though their way better than he is. Drives a 240sx/180sx that's got all the best JDM parts, but he doesn't really race alot (A: 'cause he's afraid to mess up his car, and B: he knows he'll lose)..just talks trash, and nobody argues with him cause he's so much bigger than them hehe. Definitely a big dude like the guy in white in the first picture.

That white car is nearly 80% custom stuff, and the Black and blue cars are both built by a Japanese Ford Dealership/Tuner.

Have you read Wangan Midnight? The Manga is alot better than the Initial D Manga. Anyway, if you're going to do this I'll be a character.
Ty - Another friend of the main character which is the one with all of the technical knowledge, and helps tune the others cars, driving a R33 GTST.

i had already hashed out a good story line with some real great scenes and scenarios (cant reveal all at once), however no character development was made beyond the initial cast. thanks for your input.

any help for """"vehicle renditions or character designs""" is always accepted, the pictures are really helpful EVEN YOUR OWN CARS, i think it would make it really interesting, the use of localized vehicles would enhance the reality of the whole thing. cause who knows more about them right?

there are alot of issues with the heros good friend,
right now there is no work done on it, not even an idea.
it was suggested that he be a derranged driver obcessed with nismo. he has a REALLY crazy way of drifting(but not enough to make him a major player) for example: like going ass backwards into corners flipping sideways on two wheels (upside down?) .his social problems will be an anchor to the comedic* element. as in rapid changes from being really serious and really silly, as if he was possesed. has moments of totaly random obscure comments! often making things seem rather awkward with other people around(you know that one female pilot from nadesico?the one with the uklalie and sang bad poetry? somebody to compliment that person).

the setting plan for the comic starts out in a small town in northern VT, the place is where i grew up and has loads of backroads,dirt, new,tarmac, old tarmac, emphasis on the dirt. just to get to a friends house will take a 1/2 hour through the mountains. there will be a heavy connection with the surrounding area something to get the reader fond of. the vividly drawn backgrounds will feature rich greenery, lush counrtyside, old farms, deserted backroads, it is the drivers haven to googing off and the good times in the middle of the night. This is a very important element in the story, a balance between the adventures of youth and the serenity of enjoying it! lots of still shots.

the high profile street racing element will take place in upper NewYork state which is relatively close seperated by a BIG lake. when refering to high profile i mean racing teams, fancy cars, big stakes, and most of all big Ego's. the main purpose of these two locations is to set apart the two racing communities to small time and big time. ( a major clash of racers? something to think about here)

this is where most of the big name race teams will reside. the evil honda/acura team i had a particular idea. its corny as pudding too. they all race ridicuosly color cordinated cars to match their outfits. and when they race they yell out the moves they do with speed lines in a engrosing anime style( a power ranger parody? i cant help it! DONE ) not to mention their way to into their own image. it would be a super slam on the ricer population and would kill the image it would give drifters( thank god, they give us all a bad name)

Yea just a bit. But i usually desing my own cars. Im not a good drawer . Not as good as you just rough scteches i mgiht fine tune them a bit. and mabey give them some color.
