Hi Gents,

Just getting back into the sim scene after quite a bit of a layoff. I just purchased the fanatec Podium Racing Wheel F1 and the Podium Wheel Rim Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Suede option wheel for the Forza/Xbox compatibility. I was really wishing I could have opted for the more expesive option podium 911 GT3, but it does not have Xbox compatibly. So, I'm wondering what the extra $100 gets/or doesn't get me. I then decided to purchase the Thrustmaster TH8A. My question is with the drivehub will I have any trouble using the shifter with the podium ecosystem on Forza or GTS?

as a side note wondering if someone could clarify the difference between the new GT3 podium wheel vs my purchase?

Thanks

Nice setup and welcome back!
The DriveHub has USB ports, so if the shifter has as well, you are good to go.
If it does not, you could get the Co-Pilot from the same company and you are also good to go :)

The TH8A includes a USB adapter, so it should work. Bear in mind, though, that shifters have been disallowed for online sports mode races in GTS. It can still be used in lobbies and some of the online time-trials, however.

Im using the th8a shifter+fanatec wheel with drivehub.
On ps4 it works flawless in GT-S and any other racing game that supports h-shifter.
Also works on xbox with forza&horizon+any other game that supports h-shifter.
My setup: dd1+universal hub+v3 pedals+sq1.5* (pedals and shifter pluuging in wheel) plugged into wheel slot.
Th8a plugged into accessory slot on drivehub.

*two shifters, because i use the sq1.5 as handbrake and lightsignal or horn and the th8a as h-shifter.

With drivehub you dont need to look at compatibility anymore:)

The only difference between the wheel you bought and the podium version is that the podium comes with the magnetic paddle module which include shifters and clutch, plus the new podium hub, yours come with the universal hub for Xbox one in order to have Xbox one compatibility

How do you plug the TH8A shifter into your DD1? or can you help clarify set-up?

Hi:) The th8a shifter sticks in the accessory slot of the drivehub.

So, I have my DD1 obviously plugged into the ps4 as well as the Clubsport V3 pedal usb into the ps4. I have the TH8a shifter into the accessory slot, but no bueno. I am also running the PS4 mode on the DD1. no response. This sound right?

DD1 PS4 plugs into the controller port as it is a PS4 wheel, shifter into accessories port. Make sure the Drivehub is updated.

If it wasn’t a PS4 wheel it would go into the wheel/controller port and a DS4 into the controller port.

DD1 and DD ps4 are different.
DD1 is not a ps4 wheel

But I guess if it is running in ps4 mode he has a DD ps4

If you look at the "Podium Racing Wheel F1" what's included section the wheel base is listed as below.

"Podium Wheel Base DD1 PS4™ (Not available separately at this point)"

I just shortened it to DD1 PS4.

That makes it 2 DD1 wheelbases, one with a PS4 chip and one without, just like the current CSL Elites.
