Can anyone tell me what the differences are between the 1978 and 2006 eras in Driver Parallel Lines. I know the cars, speedometer and map are different, but thats all. Can anyone tell me about the differences in the enviroment please?

Well it's basically the same game as Driv3r, with a simular 'drive between missions' storyline like GTA. It features the same damage effects as Driv3r, more arcade-like handling then Driv3r (👎), better range of vehicles, good story line, and a decent size city (compared to the three tiny towns in Driv3r). One thing I like about the game is that you can own one of each vehicle in the game, then install upgrades such as bodykits, paint and engine parts. The cars you owned in the 70's will still be waiting for you in the garage in the 00's (once you are released from 28 years of prison ) Good game though... kept me occupied for months.Wow this game sounds alrite 👍 Must try it out some time

I personaly liked driv3r more due to the fact it is much much much more realistic.
So you should be because it is like their last gme before they become a grand theft auto clone lol.
It was a GTA clone....
It was all the way...after Driver 1. Driver 1 was my 2nd favorite game. After Driver 2, it just died
Right.... Just making me tempted eh? DRIV3R is not that bad.
Not really. All i did with the dude on the go cart is...I got a car up on the track and rammed the crap outta him until he blew up
Cool. Could you post a few pictures of the road thing if that is possible. Like in 1978, before the road was there, and then 2006 when it is there? Sorry, I'm just intrested!I havent played the game in a while, but heres a bit of a list of what I remember;
1. The most obvious change is the TJ (the character) now that he's about 46 years old He's kinda looks buff, hunched-over and stiff from spending all those years in Sing-Sing prison. Poor bloke...
2. As you mentioned, the cars. Though I only noticed a great deal of 00's cars, and some 70's cars... but no cars from the 80's or 90's that I noticed (except for one SUV).
3. The cops are really pissed compared to the 70's era. During a pursuit, instead of only using their cars... the officer in the passenger seat of the police car pulls out a shot gun, and continuously shoots the back of your car. So it's a little more difficult to successfully escape a getaway
4. The buildings around New York have changed a bit... some missing, and some new ones. Buildings stand where there once were construction sites in the 70's, and I noticed a few (small) new roads have been added to the map.
5. The in-game music changes to an Electro-themed playlist, replacing the classic rock from the 70's.
6. You get new guns in the 00's era. I know nothing about guns, but I do know you can use a hand-held grenade launcher, which is quite handy for drive-bys 👍
7. The 1970's looked as though it had a slight brownish-red filter covering the screen, so the environment appeared to look older and warmer. The 00's era has a slight blue filter covering the screen, so everything appears to be new, cool and crisp.
8. There are no more stoned hippies walking around the place. Instead you will see more conscious people with actual jobs
That's about all I can think of for now. 👍
I'll see if I can come up with anything tonight. I think I do remember a road near times square which disappeared / appeared. Might get some screenies for everyone else too 👍Cool. But he still lives......
No he dies in the kart But then another one of them spawn
Hmmm....thats odd, must have been a glitch or something. I blew up the kart and he still thinks he is driving it, moving about and staring at me. When i shoot him, he makes that "ouch" sound and still staring at me..... Maybe we have a different copy of the game.
No worriesThanks! They are awesome. 👍 If you do find some of them road changes, could you post them, cheers!
What is LCS?
I see. Miami in the 80's probably had loads of Ferraris and Porsches driving around.I mean VCS...
Vice City Stories..... wanted to play through Miami in the 80's again!
