Well after using a d-pad and buttons since 1998, I finally got a wheel, DFGT. I figured there would be a learning curve, but for grip racing there pretty much wasn't - I'm fast and it's great. Until I lose traction.
In GT3/4 I got really into drifting, was quite good at it. In GT5, I haven't messed with it much yet (lost interest), but was able to do pretty well on Eiger with like, stock M3 and 599. With the sixaxis of course.
Well, now I have this steering wheel, and heaven forbid I lose any traction... as soon as the car gets crooked I'm gone. I think I have my problem boiled down to this: I have to be gentle with the pedals, and more violent with the wheel. And practice.
My concern is - how have these wheels been holding up? To come back from being sideways you gotta whip that wheel, and it sounds like the gearbox is screaming bloody murder. Anybody have any problems, or have trouble adapting to the wheel like me?
