Driving Force GT Stops Responding

Hey guys. I happened upon the site through a search. I'd hate to do this, but I'm hoping to get some help from the more tech savvy members. Here's the problem;

I have the Logitech Driving Force GT wheel. As you know it's supposed to be compatible with the PS3 and the PC. The PS3 part works fine. But when I try to use it with my PC it's given me nothing but problems.

I connect the wheel and it goes through the calibration. Then I start up a game. The wheel acts fine for a little while. Then the controls stop responding. Whatever position the wheel and accelerator were in last lock there and the car goes careening off the road and into a ditch. If I press my ESC. key the steering comes back. Otherwise I'd have to wait sometimes up to a minute until the controls come back. I have SimBin's Race On, Volvo The Game, and Live For Speed demo, and it happens with all those games. I'm running Windows XP Media Center Edition with a 2gig AMD Dual Core processor, 3gigs of RAM, and pretty much the stock video card (NVidia GeForce 7300 LE, yeah I know but I've had no reason to upgrade it).

I tried Logitech's support line and I was on the phone for about a half hour with no results. So if any of you have a work around I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

I've installed Wingman 5.08, fiddled about with all the settings but to no avail.

Just to update this; I've had it and I'm sending it into to Logitech. It has a one year warranty and they are going to make good on it.

The damn thing should work straight out of the box, which it didn't.
