Does anyone besides me use the driving line? I find it's useful to base my breaking point off.

no don't use it. i know the line (i think  ) and for the bracking points i use marks next to the track

I've tried to do that, but it never works for me. If I choose a post on a fence or something, I start breaking at the wrong post lol.

No its Mr Sixaxis noob drift lol

Anyways I find it pretty awkward if I use markings beside the tracks...
If im a bit tipsy maybe the line will help lol.

Gotta say the line for HSR is the best for T2 and T3

 don't drink and drive. it's the only way to drive drunk legally

we had fun on the HSR 800pp now i know you didn't do so good on the HSR you were drunk

Only to learn a new track, after five laps or so I turn it off. It's never quite the right line for the car you're driving and your personal driving style, so I just find it a distraction once I have some idea of where the track goes and where to brake. AFAIK the driving line never changes in the game, it just moves the braking points, but in reality the fastest line varies with the car, setup and your style.

I use trackside markers - distance boards, kerbs, track markings, advertising hoardings, shadows(!) - for braking points and base my turn-in on feel (which is probably why I'm not very consistent till I've done 100 laps...). Where there are no convenient markers (eg. Daytona Road bus stop) I use the flashing gear indicator to judge my braking points.

Sometimes, I do pick the wrong marker. Several times at Fuji I've been distracted on the straight and accidentally braked near the 250m or 150m boards instead of the 200m board.

I had the line on constantly on my first play though one player but I've now switched it off for my second play though.

I still put it on for London though because I have trouble seeing the corners!

I use it all the time, from the first day of play until last night of play.

In fact I did make a promise to myself, once the RBE was turned off in online races I would turn off the line too. So I guess I will turn it off.

nah no line for me. just practice and practice, also with the line i dont know why but it distacts me when im driving i just use things around the track to help me remember the track better.

I have to say Ive never used the line in my life, even in the past releases.... I always use trial and error on tracks... :) a lot more fun for me and a lot more crashes :D and of course I then use and find visual markers along the track....

Same as me. I believe its not realistic if you use a driving line because in real life racing there is no driving line to go by. I like to try and make it as realistic as I can.

I never used it in any GTs before now and wont do, i try to pick corner markers or other points. Sometimes find the flashing gear change indicator helps to begin with, then find you can brake layer than it is suggesting.

No substitute for practice,practice,practice.....

After probably thousands of laps at Suzuka and Fuji etc, there is no driving line needed its just up to me to stick to my mental line :S easier said than done tho 👍

I dont use it as the braking points put me off. Alot of the time when out-braking someone the line tells me to brake earlier than needed!

Also many laps driven around the tracks has given me my own lines, so I stick to them.

Its weird with me... never used it on any other racing game GT or otherwise but for some reason as its on as default on GT5P I've just left it on.... the strange thing is that I hate it when its off even though I dont stick to it 100% as its not actually the fastest way.

Must make an effort one of these days to turn it off before GT5 proper comes out

Since I've only just started competing competatively on Suzuka, I use it there - my first proper lap around this track was Christmas day... Eventually when I have remembered the line fully I'll turn it off though.

I try not to use it online as I fear I'll get too engrosed looking at the line rather that any cars that happen to be around me at the time...

Use the line for a while until you get used to the line and then turn it off, hopefully you remember the momments when to brake...

I used trial and error in the past games, but now I use the line and make markers...

The line is only good for learning a new track and running time trials. If your racing TURN THAT OFF. Learn to drive ALL of the track, not the pretty line. You have all been rammed off your line so it pays to know how your car behaves in other parts of the track besides the golden line.
Just my 2 cents

I can't use it. I get so fixated on it that my times just plummet. I rather use sings, skid marks, fences, etc. for braking points.

I started GT5P with the line but I found that I never really learned the track with it. I really needed to turn it off to actually pay attention and find track markers to use. I also found that it restricted me from trying to find better lines. Now I don't run with the line in GT5P. Oddly one of my markers on Daytona road is a shadow. Somehow that feels wrong since it should change position with time of day or even disapear at night or on a cloudy day. In FC, I still use the line. I've been doing the trophy events which means I've been running many different cars on many different tracks. I just haven't learned the tracks enough detail yet. Of course if I don't turn off the line, I probably won't learn the tracks anyway so I should probably still turn it off.

I'll use it to find my way around a track I'm not familiar with, but once I know which way the track goes, I turn it off. I use track markers, billboards, cracks in the road etc. for brake points etc.
