Driving School # 13 with Mustang

I recently started a new GTS game, so I was working my way thru the Driving School challenges, and found out that the Mustang Gr.4 can go off-road and still win the DS # 13 challenge:

Braking late for turn one, my Mustang leaves the tarmac:

Throwing caution to the wind, my Mustang continues on across the sand:

When my Mustang crosses the invisible finish line the game informs me of my winning time of 10.869 which gets me GOLD, since it improved my time from 11.170!

My Mustang is pretty far off track at this point!

My Mustang has no need for dirt tires as it sails along across the sand

Has anyone else noticed this?
I did find that you have to slow down somewhat for turn # 1, and make it partially around the turn before going off-road or the game doesn't consider your path to be within the driving school limits, however, it does seem to have a pretty liberal interpretation of what the "track limits" are.

Doesn't surprise me I guess.

Do whatever is fun for you, but I would try and beat the time using the actual track so that I know that I can actually do it.

I have just found that these liberal track limits apply to Mission Challenge # 6 at Big Willow as well

Here is the view from the second place Ford Focus as my Camaro SS '16 intentionally drives off across the sand:
My Camaro is about one second from the Finish Line at this point.

My Camaro SS is now clearly off the tarmac!

When I cross an invisible finish line the game awards me the Gold trophy and you can see the Finish Line in the picture!

Driving across the sand doesn't help my winning time any but it surely is more fun than just driving on the tarmac across the finish line!
