Guys I'm sorry, I won't be able to serve pace car duties today as I have the WSPGT race going on.
 
Can you stick a 'Private' notice on the title next time. Thought I'd found a good race, went to tune my car and got kicked. (whats up with the emoticons?)

Good idea though, wish I'd known sooner.
 
Sorry people who joined who were from GTPlanet, you guys should have said as we know who the people racing are. Its just i had to stick GTplanet tag on, as the randoms seem to think DTM =GT500/300, and this gets particularly annoying when the host is trying to put in a qualifying lap. Drop your names in this thread and sign up for the series.

Last night was fun.
20 laps raced
Disconnectedd.
Try new lobby.
Decide other lobby better.
Decide another lobby would be better.
Multiple random person disconnections.
Finally got racing and completed.
Race report to come.

So sorry about that. There was a lot of confusion and frustration last night with all the connection problems.
Also, we get a lot of people tuning up and using non-DTM cars.
We would have let you race if you had posted on the forum beforehand. If you still want to race next week let me know.

As smudger said last night was....eventfull. Started race with 7 cars. Even mojo_toker joined us in the EU series for the first time.
After a 30 minute qualifying session the times were all wiped when the Finish Delay was changed. This meant we had to call out our best time. Thanks to mojo we got the grid sorted, with Smudger on pole.
The formation lap was a mess. Superlag! Everyone was all over the place. Lots of damage. We had to restart.
The restart formation lap was better with less lag (but then i wouldnt know as i didnt see another car after 3 corners-lol). About 20 laps into the race it all went t*ts up.
Smudgers connection dropped out and, because we were using a fixed connection, everyone disconnected.
After about an hour of trying to get another room up, we started again with Hurameshy as fixed host (he has 60mb cable broadband-kept that quiet :) ). I had no lag what-so-ever! Dont know how everyone else was?
We started with 6 cars this time. Mojo didnt re-join us. Understandable. However, new_soul disconnected on lap 7. Dont know if it was intentional or not, but sad all the same.
Then, after all the good work he put in getting the race on, Godoias disconnected at about lap 23-24. It was a huge disappointment to him as he was 3rd at the time. As he did the 75% needed though, he will get points for 5th and a time using the 'goruk formula'.
So we finnished the race with 4 cars.

Sorry I didn't stick with it yesterday guys but I really didn't see the point.

I sometimes felt like I was on a Dr Who episode with all the lag on track like I was going back and forth in time... :lol:

Lag issues aside, I suffered an ''avoidable'' race incident which I think was not fully lag related. That made me park my car...

Wish I'd stuck around for the restart (the 2nd one...:lol:). I could've at least done the pace car for you guys.

JT, don't do anything for me points wise. I think I can maybe move some things around and make it for tonite's NA race after all.

You had a litle lag, two or three times i was just about to overtake you, and then you just pop right out in my front again, it was really hard to know where you were and in my car i did't felt anything...

From my point of view, goruk and hurameshy had lag, hence my shunts on both of them. :ouch:

The merc is just stupidly quick in a straight line, nothing special in the corners really.
 
Who is racing the NA series race tonight?
I'll be doing some more Grand Valley East practice but, if there are a few NA guys i wouldn't mind running on Suzuka again.
Should be on at about 21:00 BST / 13:00 PDT.

No biggie dude, don't worry 'bout it. 👍

I DID notice lag when I saw u close up on me, as I was on old tyres and you were fresh out of the pits. I tried to hold my line for a few turns (not blocking you but making my car as wide as possible). I did want to make you lose some time on track before I did my pitstop, thought it was fair since we were racing for position. There were a couple of easy overtaking spots coming up after the S's, if I were you, I maybe would've waited for a more opportune time for the overtake (only because the lag made it alot harder).

I know you race clean Goruk, lets file this in the ''racing incident'' folder. :sly:

My best so far 1.00.0xx, and then i copy my save file and lost my setup:dunce:

Good thing.... brings back old memorys of GT1, when i made Grand Valey300 every single night over two or three week in my TVR Cerbera:tup:... i loved that car...
Good times, plenty of time to do whatever i want... now, got to work son, got a house to pay....:guilty:

I'll be aiming around the 1:00.xxx mark so could be a good close race on Friday. Plus i think we should have about 7-8 cars on the grid for this one. 👍

Was thinking it was quiet on here too. We dont even make the first forum page much anymore. People loosing interest? Hope not. Maybe its just contempment.

I'm still waiting on results and times from the last two NA races if anyone has them.

Also the group doesn't get used as much as i thought it would. Maybe not many people know about it or know where to find it? If not, here ya go..

sorry for the delay for the last 2 NA races, I have been quite busy and just made the suzuka race by a couple of minutes.
 
Maybe, and i'm just saying maybe, there's to many races, probably something between 6-8 shouldn't be so tiring, and easier for people to commit.
We should think about that for season 2.
 
Was thinking the same Goruk. I was thinking of cutting the series down to 6 races a while back. The SS seemed like a natural break in the series for that.
Lots to sort out for DTM2...:nervous:
 
I'll be doing some GVE practice tonight, starting at about 21:00 BST, for most of the night.
Would be good if we can get a few guys in, to see if we can get the connection issues sorted before tomorrow.
I'll be doing some practice and some quick 5 or 10 lap races if anyone wants to join me.
Hopefully gonna bust that 1min mark!
 
Hi guys, I'm back from my holiday. I read you had 'some' connection issues last week :indiff: It's no problem for me to host tonight. I believe the Monza race was quite good for all of us when I hosted it with a fixed room. JT, let me know if that's the way we do it tonight!

I will try to be online very early as I haven't raced for a week and Grand Valley East is not the track I race regularly... 1.00.0xx must be the target time I understand :nervous:
