I actually can`t select the additional buttons in the option menu.

240€ and can't use the additional functions day one in first-party PS5-game. Give my money back Sony.

Originally, I thought there would come a monthly update on this day anyway..

For PSVR2, you give an update day-one....

Have you updated the console and controller?

There's plenty of people out there using the back buttons as shifters - and it even appears in reviews of the DSEdge - so it seems it's a case of PEBCAC.

We're also not the people to contact to get your money back; speak to the retailer that sold you the controller or game.

Okay, it`s updatet and the console, too.

But again i cant apply the backoptins in GT7 option-menu. I only can thake "Wireless Controller", but there are no additional buttons displayed.

Create a profile on the Controller Settings, configuration is done there:

Apply, select profile to play with, have fun.

(sorry for German language, but the menus stay the same anyway)

The buttons can't be mapped to aditional functions within the games, they can only mimick other buttons. If you want the shifters you have to make the paddles X/O

To add to the other posts - you set up profiles from the PS5 system menu, not in-game, but they are based on each individual game’s controller config.

So in GT7 the gear up/down are configured to X/Square. I went to the PS5 system options and assigned the back paddles to mirror whatever X/Square are doing in-game. Back to the game and I can change gear now with my paddles.

You can set up multiple profiles and switch between them on the fly using the FN buttons - so I have a different one for Cyberpunk where the paddles are mirroring L3/R3 instead (run/quick melee).

Thanks for clearing this up. I was having the same issue. 👍
