Life sucks, that's why you play video games.
AdavicroI find those things as more of an annoyance, Im not a fan of damage or tire wear. Theres things that add to realism that are already there, like the physics, smoke, etc, but some aspects of the game are just a nuisance.
The way I look at it is this. If a real life pro D1 driver got smacked in the side of his car and had a damaged axle or something, he would most likely get that fixed before running, so having no damage on in the lobby would pretty much be the same. Tire wear is like that as well, Im sure a real D1 driver wouldnt want to be doing a run on worn out tires, they would want to have the grippiest, most controllable and fastest setup possible. They would likely be running on new tires.
Having tire wear and fuel consumption off keeps your car in an optimal condition, much like a real D1 car would likely be. I dont know, theres realistic and theres annoying, and its just my opinion.
Actually Damage and Tire wear play a greater role in real D1 drifting than you are saying. For example, in one event a guy busted his radiator, at that point the 5 minute rule comes into play, which is you have 5 minutes to repair and get to the start line or you are Disqualified. A broken axel would most likely end your day unless you had a spare car or someone lends you theirs and it's happened. Tire wear really not so much, as usually Tires are changed after each round depending on wear.

But they still have to change tires in between runs.. that's his point. REALISM in the Real driving simulator.
I personally like my comfort hards burned half way through because it gives me a smoother drift. I like tire wear, It's something thats some people like and some that don't like.
i think that tire wear should be on in every drift battle. just to me one step closer to reality. btw, confort hards takes ages to wear off!
