I have heard there is a program to use a DVD Rom drive as a DVD-R drive. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks!

DVD-ROM drives do not have a laser to burn information on discs, so it is impossible for a DVD-ROM drive to burn discs. DVD-ROM drives can only read DVD discs. No software program can magically make a laser for you.

What about for a CDR drive? Could you use that to burn DVD's with a tool?

Obviously, a CD-R drive cannot burn DVD discs, only CD-R discs can be burn, that is why it is called a CD-R drive. If you want to burn DVD discs, you need to buy a DVD-R or DVD+R drive.

It's a scam, and the thing that gives it away is when they say that they can back up Gamecube games. That's a proprietary format that no one has been able to crack yet.
