Hi all, i am using wheel, i am practicing drift, but i normally don't use e brake at all, because i do not know how to use it in GT5, unless to make a 180 degree u turn, now i would like to go back to the basic, and learn the e break donuts, i found that it is actually more difficult than drifting....

my question is, how come every time when i press the e-brake button (at about 20-40KM) the car just u turn nicely but the speed will then drop back to almost 0? in real life, i can still driving after the u turn, but not in GT5? what is wrong? I tried to do the donuts thing after the e break, obviously when it loses the speed, i cant continue...my step is: drive straight to 30km and turn and 0.05 second later, e break and try to donut, but after the e break, the car is just like almost stop.... can anyone help?

When I am driving at 20-40kmh in real life and I pull the e brake up, the wheels do not lock up because I am not going fast enough to make the wheels break grip with the road. In short, you need to be going faster to make the the grip on the e brake greater than the grip on the road, otherwise it will just slow the car down.

make sure you don't have traction control, ASM, or skid recovery force on. traction control and especially ASM will make it impossible to spin a donut, and skid recovery force will make it much more difficult.

you'd probably be better off not using the e-brake and instead, using the weight shift technique, where you turn away from the turn slightly before the turn, then turn into the turn, so to set your car off balance into the turn and start your drift, since you have a steering wheel, it'll be much easier to do this than use the e-brake, believe me (i use a g27, and i never use the e-brake, mainly because its on the shifter since i cant reprogram the stupid buttons because the g27 and g25 arent supported for some dumb reason :indiff: ) anyways, it may take practice, but once you get it, you'll forget all about the e-brake, lol

better yet, why not learn from the drift himself, Keiichi Tsuchiya
