E3 2010 Discussion Thread

The Ubisoft presentation has been dreadfully, dreadfully...and might I add painfully boring.

With the exception of AC Brotherhood, but that seems like ages ago now. :yuck:

Ghost Recon made up for it though, that had better be coming out this year, or I swear I will start screaming like some mad person...

Another must have game, that shift feature is friggin' SWEET.

Oh, and Ruf RT12 FTW.

yeah, I saw Ruf, Dodge, and Alfa Romeo, though. I know Ford is in there, as well, and maybe Chevy, but didn't see much of them in the world.

S. O. A. B! Future Warrior doesn't come out until March of next effin' year.

🤬 🤬 🤬 🤬

My life no longer has any meaning to it...:P

After all the conferences today all i can say is:

MG:Rising looks sick
Gears looks ok
Dead Space 2 looks awesome
Driver seems interesting, wierd concept with all instant car changes though
Assasins Creed looked fantastic
Ghost Recon looked sick as well..
Black OPS : meh
BulletStorm : mix bteween borderlands and gears....(meh)

Tomorrow Sony is going to take a giant dump on everyone. Unless of course Nintendo starts making Wii HD and selling them at 99.99.

GT5 FTW...hopefully not in 2011 though!

wtf was with driver  you coma shift into other cars, ruined the whole game for me the minute i heard that and i was pretty hyped for it.

Mgs looked sick along with ghost recon and black ops,
with gt5 coming out as well this will be some year for gaming ;)

edit: forgot to mention assasins creed(holy crap best game of the year besides gt5 of course :))

We'll see. I'm far from actually caring anymore, I'm looking forward to Nintendo's conference...

New Zelda and The Other M, FTW.

Yeah. Tomorrow, I bet we'll hear about GT5 and GTA5 (watch Rockstar announce that GTA5 is a PS3 exclusive.) TDU2 and Halo Reach have already debuted new trailers and game play footage in the case of Halo Reach.

Also Tomorrow: AC Brotherhood Multiplayer, more Dead Space 2, Infamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2 and whatever else Sony has in store for us.

and maybe a Piikmen 3 trailer from Nintendo.

I thought E3 was going to start Tuesday, I missed like half the information I unexpectedly wanted to hear!! Oh boy..

Biggest WTF of the day: Forza 4 in 2011? At least that's what it sounds like. But...they just released FM3...and..and...what about PGR5? and...WTF

Did this in the FM thread, and I'll do it here - it isn't a rumor...FM4 is coming out in 2011. :D

I can't wait either.

2 years to make a racing sim? I think it'll end up like NFS Shift.

Then again they did say "Forza Motorsport Preview" which makes it sound like it's not quite FM4. More like Forza Motorsport 4 Prologue. In fact...That's EXACTLY what it sounds like.

'Cause you know, everything Sony does, Microsoft has to do, as well. Just like Everything Apple does, MS has to do. FM3 is getting head tracking, as well.

We don't know how long they've been working on FM4. Forza 3 wasn't much of a transition as it essentially added to what Forza 2 already had, and improved the visuals and sound...nothing was really "new". FM4 has an entirely new graphics engine, and those alone take a year or two to fully optimize.

Furthermore, Turn 10 is quite a large studio...they can churn out their titles at a steady rate and still offer great quality.

Turn 10 is only big in connection to MS. I bet Polyphony is bigger and it takes them increasingly longer to make a new game, not shorter and shorter. Which is how it should be. But, again, I don't think it'll be a full game. just a "preview" as they say. But it would imply that FM4 WILL be on the 360 unlike what everyone was thinking. Which would mean the next Xbox is further off than people think. Which is weird. 'cause they're losing ground.

No, Turn 10 is large on their own; they might be an in-house developer but they're still composed of 300 staff members. The reason it takes PD so long to deliver on GT games is because they pay too much attention to seemingly pointless things that you just aren't going to notice unless you're, literally, all up in your TV set - and they still don't pay attention to things that actually matter, but I digress...because that's not the point here.

And, again, it is a full-fledged FM title. Not a preview, or a prologue, or even a re-imagining.
It's been an exciting road to E3 for Turn 10. We debated long and hard on whether this E3 was the right time to show the world what we've been working on for the past 6 months; with the reactions we've been getting so far from the press, it looks like this decision definitely paid off for Forza. Scanning our own forums as well as others, it appears there are plenty of questions about what "Forza Motorsport Preview" actually is. At this point, we're not saying a whole except to confirm the following facts:

  • The Forza Motorsport Preview we showed during the Xbox 360 keynote was all running in real-time and in-game. Yes, the gorgeous Ferrari 458 Italia you saw is testament to the prowess of our new graphics engine and the overall power of the Xbox 360.
  • The demo we showed is not additional DLC for Forza Motorsport 3. This will be Turn 10's "next big thing" and will be a full-fledged Forza Motorsport experience launching in 2011.
  • The future of Forza will be enhanced by Kinect. We are creating a game that will truly be accessible by audiences of all racing pedigrees. That said, we are not leaving our core players behind. There will be plenty here for both newbies and veterans. It's Forza Motorsport. We know what we do best.

yeah, it's called attention to detail. And what things "really matter"? Custom paintjobs? Damage model? (which, Forza's still sucks, btw. The model scene in GT5 previews looks better.) Porsche?

GT5 is going to have OVER A THOUSAND cars. that's a one with three zeros, btw. Forza has what? 500 with the DLC packs? yeah GT4 had more cars.

Also, Forza has always felt more arcady to me. You could pull a lot of NFS tricks and get away with it. and drifting has always been wAAAAAAAAY too easy. Where as in GT4 and GT5 it's a bit harder. You can't just grab RWD car and go out to the track and drift. It takes a bit more skill with GT4 and A LOT of skill in Real life.

Ubi's conference was ok, it was kinda dull until Driver and Ghost Recon(Oh my) showed up. All MS needed wasa semi funny host to make fun of those terrible Kinect demonstrators...

Driver looks good, the shift looks interesting.

Why do people always have to brag about the numbers GT/Forza have? I probably have not driven half the cars in Forza yet I play nearly every day. During the whole time I played GT4 I might've used 400 of the 7xx cars.

Let's not get into GT4 drifting, because oversteer does not work right at all in that game.

I was going to bring that up, but I'd rather not see this thread locked over another retarded "GT is l33t and Forza is fail." argument.

(watch Rockstar announce that GTA5 is a PS3 exclusive.)

That is never going to happen, the days of third party exclusives are basically done. The only exclusives they do these days are DLC, and even than they are mostly timed exclusives.

Anyone know when the Codemasters presentation is? I need some F1!!!!!!!

I don't know. Rockstar has mentioned that GTA V would be at E3 and we've not seen it, yet. I would figure that it'll be shown during the Sony Conference tomorrow, and given that Rockstar is in love with Sony, I would be surprised if it WAS an exclusive, and I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't. I think it could go either way.

And More GT5 info would be nice, too. the GTTV "trailer" looked like it was cut together by GTTV. They are getting paid by Microsoft, after all.

You still going on about this PS3 exclusive stuff? I really doubt Rockstar is in love with sony after releasing the episodal expansions for GTA IV a huge amount of time after they came out. I just want to see GTA V whether it is exclusive or not, I want to know what to expect from it.

Driver was weird, I was kinda hyped about it because it was a childhood favourite of mine but it just seems so arcadey, so fake and strange...
