The Question was ask on Shift 2 official forums..

http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/5099377.page#12351485

The Huayra will be Exclusive to SHIFT 2 Unleashed this year.

That's like a disclaimer. If they had a completely binding and long-lasting exclusivity deal they wouldn't have bothered adding the 'this year' part.

If it was 'The Huayra will be Exclusive to SHIFT 2 Unleashed, released this year.', then it is likely they do have a deal. But from the statement they made, it appears as though the deal expires and will be available for other titles in years to come.

Does it matter if it's exclusive? Exclusive or not there hasn't been a single word or hint about any DLC cars for GT5. Heck, even something like the PD designed and built fantasy tracks from previous games which would require much less red tape to offer as DLC aren't being offered. I doubt PD is going to run around and spend more money trying to secure more licenses at this point.

And please, if you're on the GT5 board should you REALLY take pot shots at the car graphics?? :odd: Until PD does away with these crappy standard cars I think I'd avoid ragging on the car graphics in another game.

Shift is fail. Arcade game + real cars = fail.

Securing rights to certain manufacturers to secure sales numbers = fail.

They don't want you to like the game. They just want you to buy it.

Ah, so you've got conclusive evidence that GT5 having the likes of Ferrari, Red Bull and Lamborghini does nothing for sales?

Let me guess, money spent on licensing should be spent on making a better game, right? Even though in reality, brands and brand recognition sells games like topless birds on page three sells papers.

It´s like when a Football club contract a "star" only to shut up their fans.

Which normally drives shirt sales, ticket sales and increases marketing potential.

You shouldn't make assumptions on something you know NOTHING about.

Indeed, licensing of brands, names and products is a very complex part of the gaming and legal world. It's value should not be under-estimated, even if it means nothing to your purchasing decision on a game, you're in the minority.

dem graphics:drool::lol:

God what are they doing? That looks worse than gt4

But still better than a huge chunk of GT5. Once again, we have selective vision whereby we focus on the pretty stuff in GT5 and pretend the rest of it isn't there. Remember folks, the bulk of GT5's cars and several of the tracks look primitive in comparison to this Shift 2 image and what I saw in that video.

Yes, GT5 has lots of pretty stuff, including some pretty cars, some pretty tracks, and some pretty effects, but that doesn't make these go away:

I really don't get people, especially on the Internet. For example, I go to boards where people are criticizing a girl in a photo because she has a scar on her chest, because she weighs more than 100 pounds, because she's less than a D-cup, or whatever other bullcrap even though 95% of them have never been with someone equally attractive, let alone done better. Seriously, the nerve of this community to complain about shadows? Seriously? After all the crap about GT5's broken shadows, terrible smoke, sub-standard rain, et cetera?

This. With the boxy shadows and horrible standards in GT5, Shift 2 can't really be criticised.

Come on guys, we're not in a position to criticise. We're fans of a game that boasts about it's graphics but fails to deliver PS3-level graphics on 80% of the cars. There's nothing wrong with Shift 2's graphics, so quit the blatant fanboy-ism. People are allowed to like more than one game.

On Topic: I doubt the Pagani Huarrrrahhhh would've made it into any possible GT5 DLC anyway, PD are probably focusing on updating standard's to premium's at the moment. If PD wants to implement the Huayaruaruahhhryu into GT6, they probably can. EA's license will most likely have expired by then, so don't worry.

Good for EA. I hope Shift 2 is able to live up to its hype and be a good game, more like the GTR series than the toned-down Shift was. PD could certainly use some competition to get them off of their collective asses, despite what 90% of the posts in this topic seem to believe.

Barely seen worse shadows. Looks "ok" at first glance, but the airbrakes totally lack shadows. Color and lighting looks poor too.
I remember this game that came out in November of 2010. Had shadows that literally hovered around late-PS1 quality at times, and alpha blending for smoke/rain/dirt effects that were worse than PS1-level. You might have heard of it.

Your despise to this game was evident in your previous post
And yet he was still correct.

The NFS Shift Saga is just a Fail. Putting the Huayra on it won't make it a better game.
Amazing how you could have such a conclusive opinion for a game you haven't played.

Shift is fail. Arcade game + real cars = fail.
Amazingly enough, not everyone in the world wants to play a game that is an amazingly detailed and accurate simulation. Which is good, because GT5 isn't one either.

Securing rights to certain manufacturers to secure sales numbers = fail.
Which clearly explains why PD made such a big deal out of how they were able to get the Ferrari and Lamborghini licences

They don't want you to like the game. They just want you to buy it.
Wow. You mean like every publisher in the history of the industry?

EA is always very big on marketing their stuff

the trailer is amazing, but I'm not holding my breath, the game looks nice, looks fun, looks fast, but will it feel good?, Shift was a horrible game for me.
I tested Hot Pursuit and put it down after 5min.

EA has to get the physics right or better than PD to become a GT killer and get me hooked, but it's easier said that done

I always cringed with all the GT5 blunders, but when I decide to get into a premium car, cockpit view and drive the Nordschleiffe, I always end up with a big grin on my face. The driving experience is just right. I just hope PD keeps their promise and continue to improve their game via updates.

If they could only improve the vacuum cleaner engine sound and exhaust tone...

I think I love you. All EA cares about is the money. Think of who they sell to. Is anyone here under the age of 16 or 17? Anyone here NEVER driven a real car? The only people I know who play EA games are people who have other people buy such games.

Such as when they added the Sidekick from t mobile, to get missions for one game. I bet they did that for free...bet they didn't make any money at all. Get real.

What about the constant driving around in all NFS games? All those signs and giant boards advertising, those are all free donations, right? Come on. EA wants money. They'll do whatever it takes.

KAZ is obsessive. He could be called a freak, or perfectionist, or anything else outsiders want to call him.

But to us real GT5 players, he's just another enthusiast :)

Go enjoy your 'need for speed' and go drive a veyron backwards at 400 mph and do some flips and cartwheels in your car, on your new video game. video, game.

Wow, sour grapes everyone?

I can't believe anyone who follows GT5 has the right to criticism other games for over marketing.......hell GT5 is sold in huge numbers with their marketing, if your beloved game loses out one car license its your publisher not fighting hard enough, I know it's the popular thing to do to hate on EA and Activition etc. but this is getting silly. Every publisher do things for profit, and the way I see it, if EA is just about money, they wouldn't try to compete directly against GT5, but just simply knock out hot pursuits every year, why attempt racing sims when the whole franchise is about pure arcade racers?

The fact that people are so over reacting is because they feel threatened, and start hating on a game which nobody has played yet, I won't say it must be a good sim, but I am pretty sure it will be a good racing game, you can criticize it for its false claims to be the most realistic racing game ever, but then GT has committed the same crime for over a decade with physics engine that was very questionable up until GT5 time trial demo.

I play a good racing game when I see it, this blind loyalty and fandom does the industry no good. I am even buying the Nascar car that will come out although I never actually watches Nascar, because it is by a devoted team of developers who insists on doing sims in the console market.

And that's what their marketing team wants you to think. :D

A perfectionist? Look that this game you bought.

the sheer fact that Shift 2 mimics the tendency of the driver to look at the apex while cornering probably makes its gameplay a better driving experience compared to GT5 (interior view docet).

These people are actually trying to think outside the box to improve the genre whereas PD's stuck in 1997 conceptually wise.

Just to be straight EA is the publisher of the game. SMS is making it. English company I think. I hope they learned from their mistakes in Shift 1 & I'm definitly going to give them another chance with Shift 2.

Oh boy more talk about stuff that means little. That in an interesting photo of that car, looks like the rear end of the Enzo...Pagani needs to stick original stuff perhaps?!?

Now for the all the complainers, criers and assorted people, this is a business deal at the end of the day. All about securing your dollars and cents, that's it.

Hope shift 2 is better than the first one, but I have no real reason to buy any more driving games. I already own a couple that has me plenty occupied, those who do get Shift 2, be sure to give us your thoughts.

I think the bold enlarged quote is somwhat summary about this whole topic. Curse Shift 2 to death won't stop people from buying it all over the world.

It seems that all car manufacturers canot be smart enaugh. Some of them do make bad decisions.

That's a matter of opinion, I see PD doing just fine and Shift as marketing fluff just like the first one.
