GUESS WHAT JUST HAPPENED!!!!!!

I told my friend that I wanted to sell my Eclipse and he was like I want to buy it. So I go lets go for a test drive. So we went on a little drive and we got back to my house and he was like Joe I want this car...how much? I was like ummmm errrr..make an offer.
He goes hmmm well I think its worth about 19,000. I was like hmmm...I bought it off my drug dealer of a boss for only 8k cause the bastard was to rich. So I'm like ok but your getting a deal cause a un modded Eclipse runs like 15-16k but hey your my friend and I'll give you a deal. So he bought the car and I'll have my money by Tuesday and he will have his car. I know I have had a lot of cars for some reason or another but I think I'm going to say with my Mustang that is a POS right now but after about 5000 it'll be good to go. I'm kinda sad that the Eclipse is going away but kinda happy that I won'y have to pay that high ass insurence every month. I've had good times with that car but I think I have out grown that whole Import car thing. I mean I still like some of the imports but not like I used to. I'd rather have some good old American muscle.

Well, the Eclipse's aren't that great and they will be forgotten in about 15 years. However, I would suggest getting a better car than the Rustang. Unless you have a girlfriend already, you wont be getting one in a Mustang. Try and sell it for like $2,500.

If I had $20,000 USD I would buy a 2000 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas. Your friends will think you are a ****in millionaire when they see the mahogany tea trays with chrome hinges on the back of the front seats. The XJ8 also has 300hp and pulls like a mo-fo. I only have the XJ6 and it has a tremendous amount of torque. I also only bought it for $14,000USD and its a 1996, and I bought it 2 years ago in Oct of 2000

Jaguars are the steal of the century, and mine has not had a single problem. In fact my Honda which is apparently SO reliable has had more problems than you would believe, but I have also modded that thing way more that recommended.

Joey,
Enjoy both of your new vehicles.
I still want to know how you end up on the receiving end of such cool deals.
Best of luck with the 'Stang. You'll probably have a blast getting her back to 100%.
Save the remainder of that $19k for college. You obviously have a huge future in business.:D

Kelly Blue Book on a 2000 Jag XJ8 Vanden Plas (non supercharged) is $39,200. it would be a steal if you could find one for 20k.

I saw a 1999 XJ8 for $26,000 CDN, that is like $18,500 USD and I saw that one a year ago.

I really can't help but laugh when I see someone driving something other than a Jaguar, and I know it is irrational. For instance one of my friends dad's drives a Toyota Camry which he bought new in 2001. When he found out that I bought my Jagauar for $5,000 less he felt sick. He is now stuck driving this ugly little cloth seated free-way clone when he could be cruisin' in the lap of luxury with this or this to look at.

What would you want to stare at all day?

$16k for an ECLIPSE!!!!! Holy ****!

I got a GS-T for like $7k, and the insurance on that was lower than with my CL and Silvia even though it had a turbo (as do both the CL and Silvia).

The Camry!

We've had twenty-two (counting Lexus ES300's), and the one in your picture was our 18th or 19th. My dad bought it new in February 1998.

Camrys rule; ask j2s.

I might sell the stang I don't know but hell if I keep making all this money I don't know. I already have a good little used car business going on. I'm not sure what to buy. And the S-10 it kinda well caught fire so thats no good any more cept for some parts I sold to my friend. I got my money back though and I just sold the rest of the truck for scrap today. Made 100 bucks and took my girlfriend out to a fancy place.

I'm looking into a new Silverado, Grand Prix GTP,or a Monte Carlo. Not sure what I'm going to do. All I know is that I have a POS car right now and it won't last very long unless I fix it up. Well you know what I'm going to put the stang up for sale. I don't know what to get...and no I really don't want a Jag...I mean there good cars in all but I need something that people won't steal or bust up at school.

As for money for college...I have scholar ships up the ass. I'm smart for some reason so people gave me money.

So give me ideas on what to buy I don't know. ERRRR!!!

ALright I'll take a picture tomarrow I'll just ahve to go to my friends house.

Ouch. I'd rather have a clipper ship up there....

$15,000? That opens you up to all sorts of pre-2000 goodies.
- Acura Integra Type-R (not my first choice)
- Audi S4 (way early version from 1990)
- Audi Quattro Sport (but, uh, good hunting)
- BMW E30 M3 (you might find a beat-up E36, though)
- any Chevrolet V8 muscle
- another Ford Mustang (GTs for sure, probably an early Cobra)
- Mazda Miata (only the recent ones are worth it, IMO)
- Mazda RX-7 (v3, v2, who cares; rotaries are fun)
- Mitsubishi 3000GT (I think the VR-4 is out of your price range)
- Nissan 300ZX twin-turbo (probably for $8,000, if you're lucky)
- 930-series Porsche (no joke; anything but the RS is fair game)
- Subaru Impreza 2.5RS (had to throw in my personal favorite)
- Toyota Supra Turbo (hard to find anything but auto tranny's)

That's all I could think of at the moment. Used cars + 15K = options galore. :)

You can put down a nice down payment on a new(er) Stang.
You jave enough to buy a ZX-2 (Scort) or ZX-3 (Focus) outright, with play money left over.
Or if you do go across the pond the Nissan Sentra SE-R is going for $18,000.
You might even go for a late model Camaro or Firebird if that suits you.
If you're into sleepers you might try to find an earlier Taurus SHO--Big enough to carry 5 people in comfort. Fast enough to scare the pants off the 4 who aren't driving. (with grandma's insurance rates)
I wish I had your "Problems".:D

Well tomarrow I have no school so I'm off to buy or at least look at cars. I got my sites on a GTP or a SSE or even a Monte Carlo. Thats if I go new. If I go used there is a 98 Trans Am WS6 that I found, also a 95 Z28, and a 95 Impala SS. I'll let you all know what I get if I get something.

And Gil there aren't many people who wouldn't like to have my problems. :D

Well, by the looks of it, you are going to end up with an expensive peice of crap. Out of the cars you said, the only thing I even have a morsel of respect for is the WS6 and the Z28 is pretty good. But if you go out and buy a GTP, SSEi or especially Monte Carlo then I will reall lose faith in the world. A friend of mine has a 1998 Monte Carlo and he thinks he is so cool, he is a fan of NASCAR so he sort of has an excuse, but everyone just laughs hysterically when he drives away because he looks like an idiot in a 2 door Malibu that he paid way too much for and it is auto and the engine is garbage etc etc. I cant go on long enough about how much I hate GM FWD cars. Or ALL Fords for that matter.

Do us all a favour and acquire a taste for a classy car with a touch of passion or emotion.

I would rather have a 1983 Porsche 944 with 350,000 kms than a 2002 Pontiac GTP.

Street, you did it again.
Dont wimp out on not getting another import, just check all your sources and make the decision you will be happy with.
I look at it this way, if you pay cash for it, fix it up you can get your money back and/or make a trade.
Good luck in your decision and how about a Cavalier. J/K :haha:

Shame TVRs aren't legal in the States, 'cause you could buy one with $19k (just about, with a little luck) e.g. a Griffith or a Chimera.

I'd love a Mustang (one of the late 60s ones) 'cos they're so rare here in England.

Well I went to the emergency room on Wednesday night due to dehydration from something. So the past few days I haven't been up to car shopping. I might go tomarrow depending on how I feel.

Also I'm pretty sure I will be accepted to a little college in the Upper Penn. So I think I'm going to need a truck. So I'm thinking a new Silverado, S-10, Avalanche, or something alongs those lines. I'll let you know which ever way it goes.

Well in the UP of Michigan it snow like no other. A friend of mine goes to school up there now and he came home for Thanksgiving. He told me they already have 24inch of snow on the ground. So I need something to be able to go through snow as well as carry a snowmobile and a dirt bike.

I liked the Trans Am pick. My wife owns a 2000 Convertable. It's very quick and handles great. She outruns newer mustangs all day. The only thing I don't like about it is how small the interior is and the dash looks a little cheap. Anyway, have fun finding the one you want.

About needing a truck. I live in south western Mich. We have 6 inches of snow right now. I own a Dodge Ram.
Ever think about getting a new Ram? The new Hemi is great.
I took a test drive. I want one so bad I was tempted to trade in mine and go into debt again but I like not owing anything too much. Maybe later I will break down and get the 2003 SRT Ram.

well over here by Detriot we have like 2 inchs on the ground, thats nothing but I'm going to college at Michigan Tech (you might know were that's at) But there is alot of snow up there now.

I thought about a Ram but we get a GM discount so I will most likly get a GMC product due to it being cheaper. I'd really like to get a Silverado SS that would be nice. The SRT-10 Ram will cost way to much for me.

I don't know I'm going to look on Monday, ya thats tomarrow, after school.

Basically, we're mostly suggesting something closer to what you'd find in Gran Turismo, but you've obviously got your mind made up, and it is, after all, your purchase to make.

Ah alright. I;m still not sure the weather and my time isn't working real well. I haven't had time to go to the dealer.
