Edit the interior if your cars on GT6

Would be cool but they will give us proper interiors long before we'd be able to make custom ones!

That's one of the (few) things Shift 2 really nailed; interiors changing as you took a car from stock to track-weapon. It'd be nice if GT6 did something similar with the weight reductions and apparent roll-cages.

Actually customizing the interior though? Maybe they'd give us the factory options (instead of frustratingly tying them to the exterior colour), but I can't see PD dedicated even more time to the interiors. The most I could see - and it'd be a welcome addition, no doubt - would be a corral of a few aftermarket seats, in much the same way as we have the wheel shop. That'd be cool 👍

Yes, it is quite jarring having a fully tuned car with reduced chassis and window weight, with leather seats.

Once core elements of the game are tied down and they have time to spare this would be a nice addition.
Though things like what Slip has mentioned really should be included as it's pretty hard for a car to lose 300 odd KG and yet still keep the leather + wood interior unless you completely rebuild the chassis and body with lighter materials.. even then that's a stretch.

The lack of a changing interior is precisely why PD removed the roll cage, and made the description of the Weight Reductions less specific.

All I want in relation to interior customisation in GT6 is the ability to choose from factory colour schemes independently of exterior colour. I will be quite content with that.

Well if as some stated, when you make a RM (it does) or when you make a weight reduction the effects should be visible and change the interior of the car. (seats, no covers in the doors, plastic looking windows, etc)

It may need some work because modelling each part of each RM car will be like making duplicates of each car...too much work as SimonK said, too many time...but it could be good to see a physical change while doing changes like that to the car.

Customization inside the car...no needed...guys this is a simulator not a "pimp my ride" dedicated game. There are very important things to make better in the game related to physics, features and the overall racing aspect of the game.

Idea is not bad though, don´t misunderstand me. Changing the steering wheel (a Momo racing one) or the seats of any car (put some cool Recaro racing style ones) will be cool for example.

TIME PEOPLE, IT TAKES TIME, LOTS OF IT.

For a game that has over 1000 cars, think about it...

Which, only 200-250 have actual interiors, it wouldn't be too time consuming to make a selection of 20-30 steering wheels and seats, or would it? :scared:

You are mistaking interior with accessories (which can work for any car) unlike individual cars that have their own interior and even 250+ will be time consuming.

You think it's easy to make an interior of a car, let alone having code to make it customizable? You know nothing of how many man hours it takes just to make a premium alone, do you...

And neither do you. Or I. But I can make an educated guess: Changing colour/material of textures is done by clicking on a button. Takes about a second or two (well, you need to build a library of different materials first, but once that is done...). Modelling a steering wheel can be done in an hour if you're good at it (which PD are). 30 minutes for a gear lever. Half a day for a racing seat (if they're smart they make a generic racing seat that they can use in most/all cars). Assign one person to the job and within a year he could have completed the task of making interior options for all cars.

I never said I did know but any dumbass can easily tell you PD takes their sweet ass time making anything *cough* 5+ years *cough* to make *cough* GT5 *cough*.

Also, I'm not guessing by what an average video game company can do, I'm guessing by how slow PD actually are at doing anything.

If you read and accept that then you'll know why I said it will take A LONG TIME but hey if you want to wait another 5, maybe 6 years for the next GT game with unneeded features then spam their e-mail with this useless request.

So after all that I said, would I want it if it could be done in a few months to a year? Sure but hey man, wish in one hand and s*** in the other. See which one fills up first...

So let me get this straight: First you say that you don't know, and then you claim a fact - although you actually don't know?

You don't need to underline anything for me, I'm quite a capable reader :P

GT5 took a long time to develop, but it doesn't mean that they were slow workers. Perhaps they just went a longer distance?

Speed = distance / time.

I doubt that this feature will be in the next Gran Turismo, but I also think that if they do want to have it, it doesn't have to take forever to make it happen.

I love car interiors. That's one of the main reasons why I'm into this hobby.

Problem with this idea is that time could be used into making the interior of other cars, which is a more substantial addition.

This would be very nice. I was kind of expecting to see this in GT5.

This would also be good. Again, something I thought would be in GT5.
Although, IRL, when you buy a new car, having certain inside and outside colour combos aren't allowed. Unless you pay a premium that is :sly:

So let me get this straight, from everything that's happened in the history of GT, you couldn't figure this out? This is obvious, even though it's not a 'fact', it's a fact.

As I said, any dumbass can tell you that...

OEM interior colours/maybe trims would be a nice a fairly simple addition, as would things like racing steering wheels and seats, although I'd imagine being able to change/strip the whole interior would be fairly time-consuming from a modelling point of view.
