Editing GT4

Hello, is it possible to modify the game?

By modify, I mean import new textures, e.g. replace the pace car skin with a new one.

Chances are that's a no, but worth asking :dopey:

Chances of managing that are very slim. You would have a better chance of a fighter jet crashing into your back yard than successfully editing the game.

Ever heard of Hybrids??

But your right about editing liveries, there is no method I am aware of, but it is possible with the right equipment. How you'd go about getting that equipment I have no idea, so the answer to your question is no. I would quite like to turn the pace car into a police car though.

Hybrids don't edit the game in any way, they edit your save file, and the data on it.

That has actually happened to me twice....funnily enough!

But hionestly, why would you want to modify the game, chances are it will mess everything else up. Its fine as it is!

Because modifying things makes them 10x better. Just look at some of the mods for GTA: San Andreas and other games like Half-Life 2.

I love turning crappy looking cars into something better.

^Early Chinese releases included in their car list one extra car: The old Mini Cooper. I'd very much like to see that become a hacker's reality, and I'm fairly certain it will eventually, as did the hidden cars of GT2 and 3.

Yeah, look at the mods for GTA:SA, the cars looked horrible, and like they werent designed properly, and they went at 1,000.000 miles an hour before you crashed and blew it up.

I jst think that the game creaters should create the game, if they polyphonic boys made a few mods then that would be cool.

It's a shame you can't extract files via USB flash - edit them on your PC... and then export them back to the game.

I really want to get my hands on the GT textures. I think a cop car replacement for the pace car would be awesome, especially since PD have made the lights perfect.
