This goes with some of the stuff that has been said about reality and the game.

That being said, professionals have nerves of steel and its not fair to compare a media writer that's a part time racer at best to what a professional driver would do, as I have seen in-car footage of the Acemco Saleen S7 at full chat down to turn 2 at Seca and he doesn't lift once and the car is much faster than the Ford GT production car.

So it is possible for you to run close to the same lap times in a real car as you do in GT, if your not scared...

Nice. And Kazunori has good taste in movies, too.

I didn't notice if the tester specified the GT tires they used, though.

haha. i never saw this article before :) Trying to bite off of Jeremy clarkson i see. But the more exposure for GT4 the better. :) 👍

:EDIT:i just read the article and i'm wondering if they used the correct tires in gt4. i havent checked my lap times around laguna in those cars yet but i'm about to after i get finnished with work. on tsukuba the lap times are only off by 1-3 seconds depending on the car. :EDIT:

yeah.. if you compare lap times on other courses they arent off by much. I only managed to go 2 seconds faster on Fuji Speedway than Masters of Fuji did in real life. I'm sure there's some guy out there who's done hundreds of laps on Laguna and can get between 1:38-1:43 second lap time. Laguna seca is probably one of the "scariest" tracks featured in gt4 because of the hills.

I managed to get down to a 1:35 within 3 laps of time attack on Laguna Seca using n3 tires. Maybe I have a big head, but i doubt that any of those guys could get a 1:33 with n3 tires in only 3 laps. I'm guessing they used the default tires the car comes with

I've not done any tests myself, but it wouldn't surprise me! Amazing isn't it, these guys can go to the expense of having some nice cars at Laguna Seca for a day, and (possibly) miss something so fundamental that their test doesn't show much at all. They really need some hardcore GT fans like us there to make sure they do everything right!
