Effects of Tire Compound on Suspension Settings

Hi guys,

Just had a quick question, it's been confusing me throughout the GT5 series:

Why is it that if you tune a car to it's absolute perfect/best/fastest (in theory) suspension settings on Comfort Hard tires, that when you move to Racing Softs, that suspension tune is no longer the best?

In other words, wouldn't the best suspension setup for a car be the best across any tire compound? (I know it isn't, but I'm wondering why.)

If anyone can answer that, it would be much appreciated.

Stickier tires increase weight transfer, so no.

Harder tires means softer suspension works best. Sticky tires and hard suspension.

It's a factor of how much grip the tires can create. If you optimize the suspension for a given tire compounds available grip it won't be as good for another tire compound. If the tires are relatively close like CS to SH or CM then the suspension will be close but going from CS to RS will require significant adjustments to the suspension to take full advantage of the extra levels of grip the RS tires offer.
