Elgato Game Capture Crashing Problem

So, I got an Elgato Game Capture HD for my birthday yesterday. I connected everything to the PS3, downloaded what I needed to, and it worked out fine. I tested recording, and after clicking the record button again to stop recording, the "app" (because I don't know what to call it ) crashes. Every time I end a recording, the app crashes. The actual capture device and PS3 are fine and working, but the app just crashes.

But, I'm pretty sure this is the problem: My laptop has 4 GB RAM installed but 3.80 GB available, apparently. The requirements say 4 GB. This laptop is just a normal laptop, nothing custom because I have no idea how to do that. Anyone know if this is actually the problem.

If this is actually the problem, I have my eyes on the Hauppauge HD PVR 2. Anyone know if it's good?

Since you're over the typical 3.2Gb limit associated with having 4Gb installed on a 32bit OS, I'm inclined to think you have ~200Mb being used as video RAM. IF the capture card does need 4Gb to operate, you can either lower the amount being allocated to video or, provided the laptop can support it, add a larger stick of RAM to the laptop.

I'm not sure this is a RAM issue as I have more than 4 GB and had this same problem yesterday when I installed the GameCaptureSetup_2.01.16 program. I uninstalled Elgato from the control panel and installed the GameCaptureSetup_1.42.24 program and everything seems to be working fine.
