I searched first but could not find the answer. I want to see alerts when I come to the site but I am getting a lot of email alerts which I do not want. Is their a way to turn off email alerts?

There is.

Should have all your alert notifications and answers there.

Yeah, I know about those options, but if that is the only place then there is no way to distinguish between "site" alerts and email alerts which means I would have to disable all alerts, both site and email just to stop getting emails. I was hoping for a definitive answer .

Edit: Nvm, saw the means to achieve this at the bottom of the actual email. Sorry for the confusion.

No need to apologize. I mean, heaven forbid that ability was included anywhere on the site. Or even the information. So, I thank you for it. You are a saint.

The ability is included on the site, on the All Watched Threads page (see the "Managed Watched Threads" menu).

The information is there, too.

From the Frequently Asked Questions, which is linked at the bottom of every page:

To control the notification emails you receive from GTPlanet, review the “email” options in your account preferences. To unsubscribe from notifications to threads you are already subscribed to, visit the All Watched Threads page, select the “Manage Watched Threads” menu, and select “Disable email notifications”.

Every email from GTPlanet will also contain a link at the bottom which allows you to quickly unsubscribe from any or all notification messages. Please use these links in the future instead of reporting the messages as “spam”.

Huh. Well...would ya look at that. I still thank Deadhead for saving me the trouble of actually posting the question myself. Thank you, Jordan for the reply. And now I know. [I'm not being passive aggressive. I REALLY am thankful.]
