Hey guys,

I was in Atlanta on business last night and got caught in the snowstorm. I was forced to leave my car on the side of the road since EVERY emergency service was shut down or unable to help. I can't even get a tow until tomorrow!:banghead: I had to catch a ride back home with a friend who has a 4wd, but I'm worried sick about my car. The car is located in a nice neighborhood near downtown. If anyone is in the area and would like to do a worried bro a solid, would you mind checking up on it for me? Pm me for exact location. It's the black mustang in my avatar.

Thanks!

Even so, It's fine.

Worrying about it wont change anything.

He should have known since I didn't know the exact location.

Oh god I am dying of laughter

Like said, it's probably fine.

Holy **** Grayfox.

In all seriousness, GTP isn't that big of a place especially at night so you're probably out of luck trying to find someone here. Just get some sleep it'll be there.

When the weather clears you are going to find one of the following.

  1. You're car in good condition
  2. You're car has been rear ended and there is a car behind(good thing)
  3. You're car has been rear ended and no car to be seen(bad thing)
  4. A big pile of snow where you're car use to be.
  5. Nothing as it has been stolen
  6. Nothing has it has been towed for being an abandoned vehicle

I don't know about the situation in Georgia, but Alabama has declared as part of their state of emergency that cars towed to clear the highways will not be charged to the owners since they had no choice in abandoning the vehicles. The state is contracting with the towing companies, who would be in violation by trying to charge the car owners.

I'd go check but am a bit too far away. More than likely the car is still there. Thieves would have had the same problem you did trying to steal it.

Hopefully your tow truck got your car. GA DOT says people need to get their cars today as tomorrow they will start towing them at owners expense.

My own tow truck is on the way. Fingers crossed.

Good luck, guy - CNN just reported that abandoned cars should be removed by 9.00 PM, or else they would be towed. Latest statistics show that there were 2029 vehicles abandoned - I know now that one of them was a Mustang owned by a GTPlanet member. There's always a GTPlanet member involved.

This also drives home another lesson - weather has no respect for geography.

Hey bro, I just got out of this mess 54 hours later and am back home. If you're anywhere near Kennesaw (I-75 north at exit 271) let me know and I can at least bring you some supplies. Most highways are moving now minus a few patches of ice underneath overpasses so once you're unstuck you should be able to get where you need to go.

Edit: just re-read that you're near downtown. The freeways going out of the city are definitely clear now. Just stay in the dry lanes and you'll be good. Surface roads are another thing though...
