I'm planning to do the Grand Valley 300km endurance. The problem is I have a tight timeframe to do it in. How long can I expect that race to take? Just under two hours? If so that's be PERFECT.

Thanks

Well....to do that, you'd have to average 150kmph speed. When you factor in corners, braking and pit stops, that sounds unlikey for Grand Valley.

But I wouldn't know tbh.

Thanks.

It'll be interesting, see as how if you look at it from a laptime perspective, it theorecitally could be done.

I'm assuming 60 laps and two minutes a lap - but you'd have to be a fail driver to go that slow. It is a convenient figure for estimation though. Assume two minutes a lap, and that's 30 laps an hour. Since we know the vast majority of laps will be in the low 1'50 range, the race would appear to come in just under two hours.

It'll be interesting, as I said. Wish me luck.

Wouldn't it have been much easier and less forum-cluttering to search for Grand Valley in the Race Reports subforum? You'll find that in a car just fast enough to win, the race will take just under 1:59.

Thanks much. That's just about how much time I have. I'm using a Motul Pitwork Z. If you don't see a report in the next few days you know I couldn't pull it off.

An average speed of 150 km/h? That would be just under an average of 100 MPH. I assume that if you use an overblown car you'd easily meet that goal but I'd have to re-check that.

It was never my intention to use an overblown car, but I just do the oil mod out of habit and that made it overblown. Either way, the Motul Pitwork Z should be able to average 93 mph (I figured it out) with minimal difficulty.

My data sheet says I did it in a Honda S2000 LM with 315hp for 200 A-Spec points in 1hr59'01.570.

Then I probably could have pulled it off if it weren't for Murphy's Law. At least now I'll know to use super hard tires from the start. In the mean time I have to work off that oil mod. Maybe I can do it in the Capri Rally. And make a lot of money in the process.

If you can't do it straight up in a JGTC there's a problem. I think you need more practice at the track. Also, surely it would be easier to win another Motul Pitwork than drive hundreds of kilometres at Capri just to get the oil back to 'stock'.

Where to you win it? I'm a failure at this game so I had to make money and buy it instead lol

The Nissan Motul Pitwork Z can be won from the All-Japan GT Championship in the Japanese Hall. This is a nice 10 race series against the JGTC cars.

PF's suggestion of winning another Pitwork Z is surely more fun than running 1000+ miles in the Capri rally in your current Pitwork Z just to wear out the oil.

300 km is about 150 miles, and super speedway 150 miles lasts 50 minutes. But it would definitely be be longer than that since there are corners to tackle.
