ENCORE GT2 & SDR Presents
Welcome to the building of the Speedvision World Challenge Series. This thread will be used for sign-ups and as an open test session/spot race. The actual series will not be up and running until at least the last week of December or likely January.
Your administration team includes;
Brickman (will be helping with a website)
Skidmark
Malkie (building a dex save garage for you..will be available in mid December)
& Fogelhund
The premise behind this series is as such;
Well, if you too enjoy watching the Speedvision World Challenge GT races on TV, you'll know that this series has some very competitive, close and often rough racing. I wanted to try and duplicate this type of feeling on-line.
There are 40 cars that will be running, in spirit of the GT class. One of the areas that I have attempted to address here, is that of an even playing field. This will be a seven race series. In the first event, all drivers will compete in the same car. For races Two through Seven, there will be a draft, in reverse order of previous event's finishing order. We fully acknowledge that the cars here are not equal, and this is by design. We hope that this will create a handicap type system, to even out the difference and ultimately create a very close season amongst drivers of all abilities.
How to Race
We expect everybody to race cleanly, and within regular OLR guidelines. The series, including any protests or time inquiries is being run under granturismo.com race guidlines. If you are not familiar with these, please read the OLR FAQ at granturismo.com http://forum.granturismo.com/showthread.php?threadid=46235
Proof of time
While this is not a dex certified series, you should be prepared to defend your times with a detailed RTI (I'll give you a format), and in extreme cases, we might require some type of save. While I would like to believe that everybody is honest, a select few have proved me wrong. I generally run most of the cars at each track that is run, and have a pretty good idea of what is possible. I would not recommend trying to pull a fast one here, you will be spotted.
There will be random requests for a detailed RTI, or dex save. The placements of these random RTI will be determined before the start of each race.
I am looking for a couple of volunteers who are PAL users, who can check DEX saves, for those who prefer DEX over RTI.
