Endurance races on the same tracks?

I'm not moaning, it is what it is and you just have to get on with it or ignore them, but what on earth were PD thinking with the endurance race tracks? I just unlocked them and there are nine endurance races. Just nine. Could it really have been so difficult to make it on nine different tracks from the 20 odd we have? Instead we have a 4 hour race on Tskuba in MX-5s, then another 9 Hour race on the same track, but in different cars. WHY? It's not even a good track for endurance racing because it's too short, you'll do about 4 million laps and be bored out of your mind. There is a reason real endurance races are generally done on long tracks.

Then you have two races on the Nurburgring. I've not unlocked them yet so I'm not sure, but i think they're on different configurations? But even still, it's the same track again.

I mean really, it's these sort of decisions that utterly baffle me. Why did they do it?

I must admit 9 hours on Tsukuba is disapointing. It's not a great track and to spend 9 hours on it it really needs to be a great track. I didn't enjoy 4 hours on that track I cant imagine 9 hours being much more fun. Going to have to put alot of thought into car selection for that one. (At least it's not 9 hours on a freekin oval ;) )

As for the Nurburgring......they can include that as much as they want. One more level up and I unlock the 4 hour endurance and I cant wait :) I love that track. Yes the 24hr configuration is different but even if it wasn't I would be more than happy to run it over and over again :)

I know what you're saying about the ring, I love driving it as well but surely one 24 hour event is enough? That other four hour event could've been on another track.

Nürburgring 4h is (or at least was) a real event, that's probably why it's in. But the Tsukuba races, no idea... that track should be denied any right to host anything else than kart races of drifting events in my opinion. Even oval racing is more interesting as there's at least speed involved.

I've never really understood why that track is so popular in games, it's also in Forza of course. I watch a lot of motorsport from all over the world and I've not once in my life seen a real race on that track. I'm sure If I specifically went looking for it I could find plenty, but my point is compared to other real world tracks it's minor and pretty much unheard of worldwide.

I really like that decission though. To run the 24 hour race I'm going to have to dedicate pretty much a week just to that one race (probably running 4 hours a night for 6 nights, would love to do more but it's hard to dedicate any more time than that to gaming :( )

And I absolutely dont want to loose the 24 hour race since I think that is going to be epic with a realisitic time shift and weather :)

So including the 4 hour race as well gives me an endurance race that I can knock out in a night if I cant spend the week. It's a race I ran multiple times in GT4. But the Nurburgring is very much the exception.

9 hours on cape ring could have been fun :)

Gotta say I don't like the Tsukuba 9 hours either and they definetly should have chosen a different track. Monza 9 hours? That would have been ok if you ask me.

The problem certainly is, that there aren't enough Endurance Races.

Tsukuba endurance is tied to the developpement team, there's lots of endurance races going on there and the miata one is actually a real one going on. Got to remember GT5 is japanese.

Tsukuba is a very important racetrack for japanese people so yeah. Most of the tuners races are there etc.. Lots of festival each years too etc..

And if you ask me La Sarthe is far more boring than Tsukuba. But again it's just my taste. It's cool because of weather/time progression tho. Would be cool if they have done time progression on suzuka/tsukuba too.

I'm absolutely horrified at the thought of driving around Tsukuba for 9 hours. But it has to be done.

As for Nürburgring, they could've added 9 endurances there and I'd have been more than happy. I genuinely can't wait to race around for hours at night time, especially if it rains!

It's the same question as 'why are there so many Skylines?'. It's a big deal in Japan; Super GT and D1GP events are held there, as are Time Attacks. Look up videos of time attacks, I found some by accident back during GT4 and now I'm obsessed with tuning various cars to get round there as fast as possible. In GT4, admittedly with nitrous oxide, I could get an Evo VIII MR GSR to lap it in 46 seconds, after hours of tuning.

That said, 9 hours of it in the same car with other cars getting in the way of hot laps would get boring, even for me.

Hopefully, in upcoming seasonal updates, they'll add a few more endurance races here and there. Theyre my favorite type of event.

You take that back! Edit your post and wash your hands...How dare you type such evil !!! I would drive backwards on Nurburgring at night in the rain with the tiny Fiat for four 24 hours before even thinking about doing that....

24 hours of Daytona would be a blast...

I really miss a 1000km race on Fuji. It was a race in the All Japan Endurance Championship in the 80's and 90's. So why didn't PD include this nice race instead of the 9h Tsukuba one. Sometimes I don't understand PD's intentions...

And yes, why no 24h race on the Daytona road course?

Why no 1000km Monza, there was a LMS race 2007?

Why no 1000km Nürburgring GP, there were also some LMS races in the past and it has history back in the 60's (Chaparral 2D won the 1000km Nürburgring in the end 60's)?

Why no 24h race in LeMans without chicanes with Group C cars only?

Why no Daytona 500?

All these races should require some regulations (so no X2010 can be used) and would make the way to Level 40 (from 35) in A-Spec so much better and interesting and no more grinding is needed!

Just did the 9H Tsukuba endurance. I don't really mind the Tsukuba track, but 9 hours is way too long. Got bored after 2 hours or so. Really enjoy the 4H Nurburgring a lot more, time passes faster when you're driving on a very long track. When I did those 2 hours on Tsukuba it felt like I did 4 hours already.. can imagine how I felt for the next 7 hours. :indiff:

Man I'd love if Macau was in the game. It's my favourite track. The front is like a drag strip and the back is like a touge.

Lol. What can I say? Cape Ring has been really growing on me for the last few weeks :) and atleast its a longer and more interesting track than Tsukuba. I'm just really not looking forward to unlocking that and feeling compelled to drive it (again) :(

Tsukuba 4hr was painful and there was sod all reward, these endurance races should be epic for the right reasons, not epic boredom i will probably skip the Tsukuba 9hr race,
my main point of intreast now is getting 20 mill for the IV and getting a poly for the formula race, i'll probably ditch the game after that,
revisit GRID now i have a wheel, (i could never get used to the shoulder controls for brk and acc)

btw, who thinks they would have crashed out of the endurance races they did if the damage was same as GRID?
i litterally fell asleep at the wheel during Tsukuba wacking barriers enough to kill the car many times over
grand valley was fine as it was a good track and i had a car that ran nice

there are so many great tracks in GT5 to make so many endurance races but they choose the same 5 or so track that we had to race a thousand times on already. i love the ring. in gt4 i killed the 4hr in the 330i in one sitting without blinking, or sipping water; it felt like 45minutes of racing. the tsukuba 4hr took me like 4 or 5 sitting in 2 days. same as the 9hr at motegi several stints. though i like motegi and now miss it a lot, 90-120minutes max maybe 3hrs.
