Endurance

The cars that you win in the Endurance races are not random. In each Endurance race, there is an enemy car that is different from all the other cars in the race. If you win the race when this car shows up, you win one car. You win the other car, when the different enemy car doesn't show up. Here's a list of every different enemy car in every Endurance race:
Grand Valley: Venturi Atlantique 400 GT
Apricot Hill: Ford GT40
Seattle Circuit: Shelby Series 1
Laguna Seca: Dodge Viper GTS
Rome Circuit: Taisan Viper
Trial Mountain: Vector M12 LM Edition
Special Stage R5: Citroen Xantia
I don't know what car you win in Trial Mountain when the Vector M12 LM Edition shows up, but it's probably a rally car, since there's a rally car won in every other Endurance race.

Grand Valley: With Venturi: Subaru Impreza, without Venturi: R390

Apricot Hill: With GT40: Viper GTSR, without GT40: Stratos

Seattle Circuit: With Series 1: GT90, without Series 1: Escort

Laguna Seca: With Viper GTS: 300GT, without Viper: Celica

Rome Circuit: With Taisan Viper: Corolla, without Taisan Viper: Altrezza

Trial Mountain: Denso Supra (only prize car)

Special Stage R5: With Xantia: Cerbera, without Xantia: Lancer Evolution

Show us some proof. If you can prove this, that would be great. What car will you win if the GT40 is present in the Apricot Hill Endurance, for instance? I remember doing this race many times, making sure the GT40 was present. The prize was still random according to notes I kept. Anyways, can you tell us what prize you won versus what opposition showed up in your race? :)

The Vector LM in the TM endurance race was included in version 1.0 of GT2, and was a polyphony mistake. In later versions of GT2, this was corrected and the Vector doesn't show up; instead, a Lotus Elise is the top car. With the hp restrictions placed on us, I highly doubt it's even possible to win against the Vector.

Agree with everything said so far, I still believe that the prize car system is totally random. I did the Laguna Enduro many many times trying to get the Celica Rally, the Viper shows up every time, including the race when I finally got the Celica.

You haven't really shown us any proof of which prize car comes from what "enemy" car, so this is pointless chatter to begin with. For all intents and purposes, the awarded prize car is randomly selected, except in the case of Trial Mountain 30-lap Enduro: End of story.

Please use the Search Box at the top of the page next time.

EDIT: If you can duplicate the results, and show proof, and possibly show us how it's done, then feel free to post it.

When I first did the seattle enduro, the shelby series 1 didn't appear and after the race, i got an escort rally car, but when I did it again with the shelby in it, I got a GT90.:)

Also, when I did the special stage route 5 enduro w/ the xantia in it, and instead of getting a cerbera LM, I got a lancer rally car.

See. Prizes are random....welcome to GTplanet by the way.

For the record - did the Seattle endurance yesterday, Shelby Series 1 (wth the red stripes, if it does matter) was present, and got the Escort Rally Car as reward. Too bad it's all random - I still don't have the 3000GT LM, Stratos and GT90, but neither am quite keen on spending 2 hours racing to get a car I already have...

The trick is to get yourself psyched about the race itself, rather than just doing it by rote just to get a prize car. Enter something that is slower than you usually would drive, put on some sport or normal tires, and enjoy the battle while it lasts! 💡 Then if you win the prize you want, it's all good. If not, you've at least had a tough, close race.

In the long endurance races its pretty easy to lap the grid (well most of it) but has anyone been able to lap at least last place in a short race (5 laps max)

No. Personally, I try to find cars and power them so that I have a "close" race with at least the fastest Ai cars. If I find myself lapping anyone (other than super-slugs) I get bored. I prefer to be where the action is.

I disagree. I did the Laguna Seca endurance... with the Escudo, there wasn't a Viper, and I got the 3000GT. I did the Grand Valley endurance, there was a Venturi, but I got the R390. ...Or it could be because I have the 1.2 version.

Well, has anyone tried defeating the Vector M12 LM? I can't; I lack skill. A very viable theory, though.
At an old now defunct forum, someone reported beating it using one of the Concept cars. He called it the "baby Concept Car", IIRC.

Ah, found it in an archive of mine...

Concerning the Vector LM @ TM enduro...

I'm not bragging or anything with this, just thought it was unusual.

Is it common to totally smoke the Vector with a legal car (the baby concept car in my case)? I lapped it on the very last lap of the race, so I'm wondering if anyone else has legally beat the Vector, and with what car.

EDIT: Fud brouoght up and interesting point... when I raced the Vector it never got stuck or anything; it raced error free.

Oh yes. Examination with a Game Shark confirms that the Denso Sard Supra is the only prize for the Trial Mountain 30.

What's a 'baby concept car'? A hybrid or something? Or is it the Dodge Concept Car you win for getting all golds in the A licence?

Either way it doesn't matter though, since the Denso Supra is the only prize car.

I ran the Apricot Hill Enduro a week or so ago and I won the GT90.
I don't remeber what I was driving. I did keep it to about 400HP (591 was max allowed)but the GT40 was my closest competition and neither of the cars specified in the 1st post match what ended up in my garage.
It was a fairly exciting race as there was one car on the track that I was truly racing. The others were obstacles that I had to drive around.
But the GT40 was never so far behind that I didn't have to think and plan out my pit stops.

For the Apricot Hill Enduro you win either the Viper GTS-R, or the (elusive for some) Lancia Stratos.

Beating the Vector LM would still be an interesting challenge.

WRT "baby concept car" he definitely wasn't using a Hybrid. I think he means the one from A license golds.

Yes. There are 2 Concept cars. The lesser one is the one you win from A licenses. It hasn't as much power as the LM (silver) version, but certainly, it could win against the Vector LM. I never thought of that..learn something new everyday.

It's possible.
I have run both of those enduros as they are the shorter of the "long" enduros.
I may very well have my prize cars mixed up.
I'm planning a shot at Grand Valley in the near future.
I'm not "gaming" very much in the last few months...

MeechShrykull, you said if the Xantia shows up you win the Cerbera in the SSR5 enduro,
well there was no Xantia but I won the Cerbera.

If the prize car is not random then maybe it depends on what car YOU use rather than which car you're against. Who knows...

these are all the concept cars i can remember at the time
dodge concept (a license car)
dodge concept lm
toyota celica detriot show version
toyota mr-s show version
:gtpflag:

Im just so frustrated right now! Im aiming for [R]Altezza LM Edition in "Rome Millenium 2 Hours". I've done it 6 times now and i always get the [R]Corolla Rally Car '97 .

Yeah, most of the time. the last place car is the one you most frequently lap. I did the Apricot Hill Enduro in the Vauxhall Tigra, and i finished 16 laps ahead of the last place car, a Corvette (mostly coz it kept spinning out on the first corner lol). Won the GT40...

i did Seattle endurance on a cobra daytona coupe, with the shelby series 1 on the track and could not win the damn GT90(in Japanese ver)!!! definetly not a good theory!

yesterday i made the seattle endurance again, no series1 on the starting grill...star car was a mustang svt...i got the gt90,this theory is totally unvalid for Japanese version at least

made the grand valley enduro with my mighty clio v6 @300hp (my beloved "cup edition":D)
no venturi in the race, just a green Ruf CTR, a red viperGTS, a yellow Esprit a red Jag xj sport and a shelby 500RK(love to mention all these nice cars:D)...R390 LM as prize, if this can help (just 2:01 min with an impressive(:D) 1:53:246 as best lap)

Which 390? The light blue, or the Black and Red?

One of my favorite cars for enduros, is the street version of the 390.
About the only things you can adjust on this car are the transmission ratios (if you've put in the racing tranny, and you will if you want the car to be competitive), and the horsepower.
Awesome car under 400 HP. Unbeatable over 600.
