Okay so I recently got the game and been grinding for a new engine. Now I have used about 10 tickets maybe so far. I have seen an engine in some of them but so far has always gone right past it?.. So do I have bad luck or is their a level I may have to reach before getting one?

Neither, as it happens.

The tickets draw from a preset list of prizes - it's likely, although we don't know, that it simply goes from one prize (actually an ID number which it looks up in a conversion table to return a prize) to the next like it probably did in GT Sport, which itself is likely on the basis of being repurposed GT5 used car dealer code - and nothing you can do will change it. In fact four of the prizes on the Roulette Wheel of Disappointment are there for show only, as you have zero chance of getting them.

You can, if you get a rubbish prize from a ticket, shut the game down without saving and then return, in order to keep the ticket. The list of prizes changes each game update and while most of them will still be rubbish prizes (because 90% of the list is rubbish prizes) it's likely at least one or two will change to something less rubbish after an update.


There is a special engine-only six-star ticket, but there's only one guaranteed way to get one, in Extra Menu Book 3 where you need to collect rotary-engine Mazdas. And there is only one (now) for doing this.
