Thanks, mate! 👍

Now I can be one step ahead! ;)

EDIT: I don't know if someone noticed this, but if you look at the top left of the "My Home" screen, the version is 1.01! Could this mean that the patch out already?

So damage will be permanent until repair in GT 6 1.01? In GT 6 1.0 the damage is not cumulative, AFAIK.

Yes, we will learn soon. In the 1.00 there is no Repair Damage option in GTAuto that exists on pre-release screenshots of the UI. I was wondering about it, it is great it will come with the update.

And Shirakawa, I think you will be pleasantly surprised with some other things as well.

Most of what I've been disappointed with is in the car tuning/settings/simulation department and DLC exploitation plans. I don't expect major changes there, unfortunately.

Anyway, although I did cancel my physical copy preoder after getting mad at several things in v 1.00 (...because PD), after playing a bit more with it on my friend's PS3, I ended up purchasing the digitally delivered version from PSN for my own PS3. I don't think I will regret this choice but I hope PD won't screw things up along the way, and at this stage this would be by adding significant/relevant features or content that should have been in GT6 from day 1 as paid DLC.

Just found a double reference to Initial D in the Manual, in a photo where the driver name is T. Fujiwara and he drives a blue Subaru Impreza(the same car of his father Bunta Fujiwara).

So now we can't go into online lobbies until we have National A lisence. I personally don't like this because now I can't race with others for awhile which was a big part of GT5 for me. On the other hand it could be good, filtering out the kids (for a while) that will just end up ramming people .

Under the Race Photos section, I noticed that they specifically state that "Only the x1 setting is available for Race Photos". Kinda disappointing considering that GT5 was patched to allow x2 magnification in race photos... Why would they remove this?

I can't imagine it's going to take too long to earn the A license, probably have it done in the first afternoon. Most of the early races look short and easy.

Which kind of begs the question then, why do it if you're only going to go halfway? Either leave out the requirement altogether or give it some real teeth would make more sense.

Some things to watch out for; "In Gran Turismo 6, replay data, ghost data, photo data, course data etc. are stored in your game data". So now we have something else to worry about should our game data get corrupted by an update, thanks guys 🤬. Export like crazy, good thing I have my external drive ready.
Also they make no mention of what paints are available from the outset of the game, just that you acquire chips when you buy or receive cars. So what's in the paint shop a bunch of empty buckets?

OK, can someone help the idiot here? The last page of the manual has this:

The online service is available for a limited time only. For more information on the terms relating to the provision of online services please visit the following website, then select "software usage terms" (for the PS3) from the menu:

PlayStation®Network Information

http://eu.playstation.com/psn/

And then this:

For further information as to whether the online service provision has finished, please visit the link below:

PlayStation®Network Servers Status

http://eu.playstation.com/gameservers/

I click on the links, and can't find anything marked "PlayStation Netowork Information", or "PlayStation Network Servers Status" anywhere. I know it's probably just the usual User Agreement BS, but the way it's worded sounds like PSN might be introducing a paywall or something.

I think it's more a thing to say one day they will close PSN on PS3.

Basically, don't expect PSN on PS3 to be around forever.

I see we have a maximum of 10,499 cars. 500 in our garage, and 9,999 in the "stockyard".

Sensible to have a place to stow away all the crap we don't want.

Oh and:
Driver Number
Manage the words and number that are attached to the body of your car. (This option is not available if you are driving a car that does not allow a driver number to be attached to it.)
Words?

It would be nice of the host could set license requirements when starting up a room.

It would also be nice if the license tests had something to do with clean racing, & not just encouraging the divebombing of AI drivers to get gold.

I certainly wasn't trying to imply that this restriction makes sense, just that it won't take long to get around it because the career mode appears to be very simple. PD is known for doing things halfway and sadly I've come to expect oddities like this.

No paint chips to start. I was watching @Wardez on a live feed , starting his game. He had one paint chip only from the Honda Fit when he went to paint the car. The only paints you have will be those you acquire by buying cars or as prizes, only difference is you can use them over and over and they don't disappear.

Honestly PD could have given us a regular paint selection and special manufacturer paints are the paint chips which you buy in order to have. Maybe I would like to have my car different colors for each race, I'm stuck early on with no paint but the paint from my first car to repaint with. Lol. So we only get paints from buying or acquiring cars and no random win from seasonals, perhaps that might still be on the board. Oh well, at least it's better than GT5's one use paint chip scheme. Hope it dies with GT6 and we get a paint shop and ability to acquire custom manufacturer paints.

Divide by 100 for the approx. value in USD.

1 US Dollar equals
102.35 Japanese Yen
(from google)

The JP version of the game uses Yen, as it always has.
@smskeeter23 @AnJ Monster it has already been addressed several times that in the Japanese version of GT, credits somewhat represent the equivalent of what they would be in yen.

I did not know that. Wow how did I miss that for the last 2 years? Oh well, I was wrong, thank you :)
