Back out on the 1/4 on the indy road course. My escudo vs. 2 GTRs and an Enzo. My car bogs out in first, the competition blasts ahead, then something magical happens....... the escudo gets its grip, and blows away the competition. I want to know how to eliminate the problem with first gear and just completely annhialate any car that comes my way.

Bogs down and then gets grip?
How are you losing grip while bogging the engine?

More importantly, fix your gears to get rid of the bogging, is it really rocket science?

1. Turn TCS off
2. Escudo has MASSIVE turbo which = horrible low rpm power. Shorten first to stay in the powerband.
3. Add some ballast to rear to give it a grip

My Escudo's launch is usually just a car length behind a GT-R so it has the potential to have a decent launch...

The car doesn't need ballast, you need a long first gear but then shorten it so it doesn't quite ride the red line, the adjust the rest of your gears from there. This prevents it from bogging down. You want to make sure your shorten it up enough so it's still long but doesn't hit low RPM's. This is key. I have no problems wiping ACR's off the face of the Earth.

For an awd car? I don't have the escudo but awd cars are better with a short 1st. Fr cars yes longer works. But a longer 1st in an awd results in more wheelspin.

Yes but the escudo needs a long first because of all the power.
