Essentials

I know you guys all have your wishlists with all your Ferraris and Porsches and whatever is in your real life garage, hoping it will be in GT5. But lets be realistic. Not every car ever made can be in GT5. So, Ive composed a small list of cars that I feel will need to be in GT5. Ive excluded race cars because there are so many and PDs choices in the past have been biased and/or random. Im also leaving off any japanese cars like the new Evos and WRXs because PD will include them, no doubt. You can also notice that all these cars were released around the time/after GT4 came out.

1.TVR Sagaris
No doubt this car should be in GT5. Probably the fastest TVR yet, excluding speed 12s. What makes this russian... er, british car great is that it handles better than any street TVR in any GT game so far.

2.Mercedes-benz SLK55 AMG
The guys at Top Gear love this car and I can see why. Big engine in the front, drive at the back, should be in GT5.

3.Pagani Zonda C12 Fangio
1'18.4. That is the lap it set around the top gear test track. Fastest road car ever there (Renault R24 and DBR9 arent street legal).

4.Ruf RT 12
No porsche, no problem.

5.Chevrolet Corvette C6
Not a fan, but the game needs this or the Z06 counterpart.

6.Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe
Dodge has been in GT since the beginning and the last two games have lacked the RT/10 yet kept the GTS. They like the coupes.

7.Aston Martin V8 Vantage
Great looking car. Sporty too.

8.Jaguar XKR
The upcoming car should be out before GT5.

Also, Lotus Sport Exige would be a thrill but the lack of Exiges in the games makes it unlikely.

So, do you guys agree? Know any other cars that should be expected?

I'd really like to try my hand at driving the Bugatti Veyron, and a Ferrari F40 or Enzo. I'm a big fan of Corvettes and wouldn't mind seeing a few more models of them either.

And a damn 1994 accord, cause that's my daily driver :P

Yeah he'd have meant the current V8 Vantage, not the old V8 Vantage. But I'd rather the V8 Vantage RS thats not out yet. The Sagaris is pretty much a dead cert for GT5 though, I'm sure the C6 and the C12 F will be in there too. The other should be but I'd be less sure on judging from the past when GT jumped from PS to PS2.

-> Are you guys referring to this Vantage V8?

Yes, the V8 Vantage RS is a lighter more powerful version of that one as well.

When I first seen the TVR Sagaris, I remembered typing that it was perhaps the sickest British-made bastard on wheels. That car screams intimidation from its wild lines and perhaps its scary performance as well. * The SLK55 AMG seems to be powerful and fun, but I'd like to also see the... uh... that Mercedes-Benz with the front like the SLR McLaren that's a $60K convertible. When I think of the name of it, I'll update. * I'm sure any Pagani will scratch any superexotic/supercar itch people will have. And with the Top Gear stat you provided, who wouldn't want one of those? Or maybe two of them? My only wish for Paganis in GT games is, while Silver isn't a bad color, what about other colors offered, even if we have to make our own? * Ruf RT 12... isn't that the Ruf in a GT4 thread that was supposed to have about 600+ horsepower? I can dig that, Sagaris. I can REALLY dig that ride. Should be a beast to wrestle around whether it's Autumn Ring Mini or Nürburgring Nordschleife. From GT2, I'd want to see the Ruf CTR2 Sport come back. It was a real musclar Ruf that was more powerful than the CTR2 (CTR2 has 512, CTR2 Sport has about 540 at least). Plus, it looks sicker. * I still thought that Chevrolet could have taken the C5, give it headlights like the C5R and call it the C6 with many more modifications. But, not bad. The C6 would be liked, C6 ZO6 even more. By the way, I'm not really a C6 fan either. * Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe? Now you're talking, player! I love the new hardtop Viper. It's powerful, sweet, and unlike most cars being renovated, actually looks better than the original. My only recommendation? blue with white racing stripes. See you at Grand Valley Speedway. * Aston Martins carry luxury, plus not afraid to tear it up on the track. They are classic British autos for a reason. Plus, the V8 Vantage RS is a pretty lady, isn't she? * The latest Jaguar XKR is a car I don't know too much about, so I'll need to do some reading on my own, then comment later. * Lotus Exiges would be very nice as well. Should be great fun tuning up to OWN the competition.

I do agree that GT5 needs a nice British contingent, not only in cars, but also in tracks. I feel the same should be done for Australia. Aussie cars, Aussie tracks, hope they can pull it off. Anyhow, not a bad list.
