Euro Hot Hatch--No M Coupe!

OK, I've been playing for about a month (I'm about 30% complete), and I have one small gripe/question.

In the Euro Hot Hatch Championship, I'm not able to drive my BMW M Coupe. No big deal, except when I go in to race I'm racing against an M coupe! I'm having a hard time beating the BMW in my Focus RS.

Why would they not allow a car in the race only to have you race against that same car? I haven't seen any other races like this one. Are there any? Thanks.

[Edit]double post, but anyway.
I think in the Supercar festival - Professional Hall you often encounter a Cadillac Cien.
But you can't enter these races with it yourself.
Really worthless car IMHO to drive.:yuck: , but a pain in th you know what in that race as an opponent.

On a side note, just saw that car in the movie "The Island".
Looked kinda nice.
the main character drove it like it was effortless to steer. Hmmm Hollywood .....

tried an Audi A3 3.2 Quattro.

I just noticed another car which is not eligable for the supercar festival but which will be an opponent occassionally is the Nissan R390Gt1 Road car.

That one really got me puzzled.:dunce:
Supercar festival: over 493HP allowed
Nissan Gt1 one: 345 ? HP:crazy:

Go figure...

Does the inability to use the M have anything to do with mods done to it? I know that's stopped me entering a few races I thought I could enter, just a thought.

The mods may have something to do with it. I'll try to delete some things and see if I can squeak into the field.

Thanks for the 1-series idea. I could use that car in the 1-series races as well which is nice.

offtopic: is the 120d a diesel? wondering about the d. im not too familiar with BMW namings. i know M is a performance series, and the first number is series, then with engine displacement in litres, followed by "i" for inline (or xi for 4WD), but d..."diesel?"

Yes, the 120d is a diesel.

Close. "i" doesn't stand for inline, it stands for "fuel injected." It is rather redundant to signify that a car is fuel injected in this day and age, but BMW has stuck with it, most likely because it's what consumers recognize.

In the supercar series on professional events, you can race against a cadillac cien, but can't drive one.

Rally D'Umbria wins you the Cien. Quite easy to win with a tuned Ponitac Sunfire GXP Concept.

Jesus, my 2nd time round playing this game from scratch again, the Audi 3.2 hatch rapes the competition. I remember having a moderately hard time in the Volkswagen GTi first time round.

Yeah, that's been going on since the early 1990's. The 318i has been 1.9 or 2.0L for years, the new 550i and 650i have 4.8L engines, and the new 328i is 2.5L.

On the subject of cars being in championships that you can't use, one bizzare example is in the 80's Japanese cup, where there is a 91' Toyota Celica... :odd:
